These were taken during the district championships that we have going.



That one is a front view of our Catagory 1 vehicle, Davidson 1. Off to the side, you can see out Cat 7 vehicle, Davidon 7. It is the smaller of the two.



Thats a rear view of the two. On the other side of the 7 unit you can see another Cat 1... not sure which one that was.

Are you volunteer or career? I think if I had more time at home I would join a local volunteer station.

My mom is making a calender with pictures of firefighters. It's really serious and not beefcake or whatever. I'd ask her to put those in it, but it's local XD

Cool. I'm probably going to be getting into fire fighting when I get done with school, although it'd be wildland stuff

I've seen a bit yeh. Nothing too bad yet. Ive been on two fire calls (lights and sirens) and to three fires all up. Not including two or three hazard reductions (burn offs)

Awesome. So when do you get to load up the fire truck with Head&Shoulders and fight the aliens?

Who fights the fires while the firefighters are off at the competition?

We would if the call came through. Last year apparently that happened... storm rocked out and they had to go off and deal with the damage. Nothing happened this year though.

Oh. I had the impression that the competition was far from home. Or at least far enough away to make it impossible to respond to a call at home.

It was about a kilometre up the road from my house, and about 1.5 ks from the station

Heh, my friend's dad had a bad encounter with firefighters.

In the laundry room, some of the clothes started smoking. The firefighters pulled up in the truck to the front door, grabbed their hose, and ran in the side door. They kicked the door down, ran the hose through their living room and such, found him, and said "where's the fire?" When it was kinda, I dunno, RIGHT THERE, and close to the front door. Like they didn't see the smoke! They turned on the hose full blast, making a mess, and they totally destroyed the living room -- tables turned over, papers everywhere... Over $6000 worth in damage, MUCH more than it could and darn well should have been.

Clothes started...smoking??

The drier did it I think.

I don't remember all the details -- it was a 30 second story I heard last wednesday.
