What do you tell a girlfriend that is getting braces and is totally down about about it?
2004-10-06, 2:39 PM #2
Tell her she is still beautiful, and that you'll love her no matter what, and that it's only for alittle while and she will love the results.

That might sound corny... but hey... girls like soft stuff.

Im sure there are worse things, like your computer constantly overheating and shutting down with no warning...

Lot's of people have braces, it's not a big deal, probably won't have them too long, and really nice teeth are a huge turn on!

tell her that at least now your kissing will be more interesting.

I know lots of hotties with braces, it's not a big deal. Downplay it. Also, try to keep her from being shallow about it. I'd be more bummed that I couldn't eat popcorn anymore

Buy her a bulk package of painkillers.

Tell her to save her money, and that a few hours with a pair of vise grips can do just as good a job.

Braces can make a girl look hawt. Don't ask. It brings attention to the face, which can be a good, or bad thing.

Tell her she makes you so hot you want to furiousely hump her into the floor.

.... or maybe not. :p

That you still care about her, braces or not, that she's still the same person that attracted her to you. Things like that

Why oh why do you always omit the final period from your posts, Avenger? It's driving me nuts! They're always there in the middle, but never at the end!

Yeah, man. It's funny, though. It looks like you started to say something then forgot what.

But many fail to wear the retainer afterwards.

I got braces because I didn't wear the retainer beforehand.

I've had (what remains of them) braces for over four years. Hope to get them off soon.

And personally, I like them compared to the retainer -- I don't like the feeling of something like that in my mouth...

Er, sorry for hijacking, tell her she's not the only one and that it's totally normal to have braces.
May the mass times acceleration be with you.

He's right. The teeth in my lower jaw reverted a bit after I stopped wearing my retainer.

Now I just wish my orthodontist had had the foresight to make a retainer for my lower jaw, and not just my upper.

Laziness. I don't think I even put periods in single sentance replies either.

(That one was for you, Freelancer :p )

Do what Mikus said. I would suggest doing a little playful teasing about it later on, but unless you are extremely careful, you can get put in the dog house.

*raises hand* Mine moved a little, but it's not that noticeable.
