i was playing the level where you escape jerec's crashing ship today and i found something really weird. i waited until the ship is near the bottom (3 min before crash) and i activated fly mode to reach the bottom before the ship. the bottom ground is actually a dome and on top of the dome was an at-st walking in place. it didnt even attack me when i got close to it. what would an at-st be doing down there if u arent even supposed to be down there.

is this some kind of easter egg or just some stupid error

Probably just something that got added at one point, and then forgot about before they finished the game. I remember finding that years ago when I first played through JK with cheats.

......am I justified in wanting to kill petmc right now? Or should I pity him on the chance that he doesn't know how to edit messages?

It's just something he added in and forgot to get rid of. *rimshot*

What I found interesting is that, apparently at one point, they were going to have AT-STs in Nar Shaddaa and the Katarn household -- screenshots released during production showed them there.

And, yes, there are innumerable resources left in Jedi Knight not used in the game -- for example, the Tusken riding on the swoopbike.

petmc20: Contrary to popular belief, you dont have to attach an image to every post you make.

The original Dark Forces had about 24 levels... and LucasArts actually finished quite a few levels that never ended up in the game. You can see screenshots of a few of these "lost levels" on the original box for the game.

Also, originally the first level of Dark Forces was going to take place on board a Star Destroyer... you can also see a screenshot of the map for this level on the Dark Forces box.

Where? Can the player see this in game?

No, it's just an unused asset among all the other 3dos.

You can hear them racing in level 3 (or maybe 4), though.

Level 4. They sounded a little more like Cloud Cars to me.

That sound in level 4 is the same sound they used in Dark Forces for the Dark Trooper drop pods.

I always wondered what the sound was for in JK.

Probably just a mistake that never got fixed. Lucas Arts were no strangers to misaligned textures, and don't tell me that set of thermal detonators in narshadar was suppose to be floating 300 feet in the air.

there's also a weapon model that wasn't used. rptsomething.3do I think.

Sometimes I find the coolest things in the game where the things they didn't use but forgot to clean up.

The BEST of all TIME is the island across the damn in Goldeneye for n64, originally a group of soldiers on a boat and jaws were supposed to come from over their as you made you way across. If you want to see what im talking about just go down to the dock platforms get out the sniper rifel and look across the lake, there is a gameshark cheat where you can use no clip and actually go over there its pretty neat.

Wasn't there a screenshot of that gun here before?

Someone posted all those DF, JK, and JO screenshots of things that never made it into the game and one of them was a wierd looking, long gun for JK

That gun model is used in lots of mods. I think LEC didn't use it for a reason; It sucks.

Yes, it is used in a lot of mods.

looks like a normal rifle with some scaling issues. Who remembers when they first installed the Bespin level from their MoTS CD. I was so excited!!!!

I don't think that's quite 20 feet. :-\
