Logitech Z-640 VS Logitech X-530

Okay, in my early thread I've pretty much decided it'll be ethier the Z-640, or the X-530.

Trouble is, Everyone knows the Z-640.
And I'm having a hard time finding anything about the X-530. So far what I have found is nothing but positive. Newegg reviews give it like a perfect score.

X-530

The X-530 also have some anti-distortion technology called FDD2

^ more info on the X-530.

I think I'm going to go for the X-530, they're worth a try I think since I haven't heard anything bad about them.

So, unless anyone says otherwise. I'm going with the X-530.

Has anyone here owned them? or used them?

Any help is appreciated! :D

Don't know anything about them and haven't heard them, so I'm of little help there. Right off, I personally dislike how all of the controls are mounted on the front right channel. Depending upon how you set them up, that could be an inconvience. I'm no fan of the style either, but that's beside the point. It looks like you're getting more cable for the satellites than you would with the Z640s. Hard to tell. That was the only gripe I had with mine after I set them up, I had to buy a set of 6' RCA extensions for my rear channels. Do the stands reverse so you can wall mount them? My Z640s do that. I'm not in a room where I can do that easily, but it's a nice option to have.

I don't know. It's your money, and you'll be the one who uses them. I can't really give you any more input than the above, even if it is more or less just things you might want to consider if you haven't. I hope you get what you want and something that pleases you in the end.

Get the X-530s, they will be clearer because of the dual drivers, and the sub is more powerful, so more bass. :D

Sound matters more then style, etc.

Besides, I like how these look better then the Z640s.

And, if I don't like them, I can return them and buy another set *shrug*

All I know is that the Z-640s have terribly muddy base.

As far as I've known, the X530 is worth the extra $14 over the Z640. I haven't really seen any complaints about the X530 system, so I'd probably say that it's worth the price tag, for a 5.1 Speaker system.

Thanks, Someone on my MUD was kind enough to find me two reviews. Both were very positive so I'm going to get it! ^^

I'm sorry, but don't the dolby digital ones require a special port for the digital decoder? Which I don't have? :P

Depends on your sound card :p

But my sound card has it, as do most nowadays, including many mobos.

The digital ones are the Z-680s. You can't make analog 5.1 into digital 5.1 . But yeah, most motherboards or soundcards have a SPDIF input. Some even have optical.
