1.0¯ (repeating zeros) = 1 = 0.9¯ (repeating nines). It's not hard

think of this:
0.9 != 1, but is kinda close
0.99 != 1, but is closer
0.999 != 1, but is even closer
0.9999 != 1, but is even more closer

the difference from 1 and your cool 0.9 number gets less and less when there are more and more 9's, but what happens when there are infiity 9's?

With infinity nines in 0.9¯, the difference of 1 and the number is zero. It's just that simple. No, it doesn't need to "reach" or "approach" the infinity nines, because it HAS infinity nines, that's what the " ¯ " means, that's what it's for it's not hard to understand, think about it people.

and it's sad when you think about why this problem even exists. The modern number system has a lot of redunancies, and this is one of them, it's just that this one deals with infinity, unlike.. lets say.. 1/1 = 1. That's one that deals with fractions.

Decimal system is flawed.

0.9999... is not a rational number, so STFU.

Let's see some proof of that.

Of course, every math book on the face of the planet notes that terminating and repeating decimals are rational numbers, so good luck on that.

Let's pretend, just for a minute, that's it's not.

Does that mean 13.370000... is not as well? After all, it's exactly the same kind of number, just with 0's repeating instead of 9's.

...so, what is the point of this equation again?
