"We have recieved information from the data center that the hard disk has failed unexpectedly resulting in 100% data loss on the celll01 server"

I had over 500 files. Every single one of my voice acting skits, all my picture files, school work, songs, reviews, word documents, everything. Gone. I uploaded this stuff because I didn't have enough room for it on my PC. Which means no back up. I moved files that I had on my PC all the way back since 1998.

"We are extremley sorry for the inconveniences caused to you reguarding this. We will provide you free webhosting for a complete year as compensation and to maintain goodwill."

Oh that's great. What am I going to host? The website I payed $$$ for, that is now deleted?

"If however you are not satisfied with this offer, you can request a refund by sending an email to ---@----.com. We will grand you a immediate refund as soon as we recieve an e-mail from you. Please do not reply this message just send us new email with subject 'refund' and list your domains and thats all."

All of my poems and lyrics are gone too. Luckily, I posted them on massassi.

I am very very pissed. There is no way, any amount of money can compensate for what I have lost.

I know it was a "unexpected failure", but you have no idea, how much this all meant to me. This was most of my lifes work. Some of it was just silly uploads and pics, but I had alot more then that. Oh Geese. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

That sucks man....though, you might wanna use the money you save on hosting to buy a cd burner. I guess the moral of the story is never trust anyone else when it comes to the storage of your important stuff :-/

The weird thing is, I need 75 dollars, I am going half half with my brother to buy a new graphics card...my site cost 75 a year...Still, it isn't worth it. The site itself cost $100, then my $50+ bandwith a month. (my own fault.)

Half and Half on a GFX card? Get the Powercolor Radeon 9700 Pro. Sorry about the stuff--I know how you feel. I had a gig worth of crap on my old computer, and had to move (it was a p120, 2 gig HDD, a few games installed) and I haven't been the same since. It is the sucks [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Man talk about a sucky webhost. They should have a raid system, or at least backup once in a while.

Well either way, I have a lot of your NeS stuff, just so you know. It's at http://nesradio.sorrowind.net/audio/

All you can really do is rebuild... good luck with that.

I backup all my important files regularly. I then keep my cd backups in one of those fireproof safes just in case the worst should happen.

Plus, It's a great security measure, because I'm the only one that knows the combo. I memorized it and then locked the combination sheet inside the safe. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

I know how you feel. A couple years ago when I was changing hard drives, I foolishly zipped all of my stuff (about 2-and-a-half years of work, all stuff very similar to yours except tons of artwork that I had drawn on the computer) to prepare to burn it to a CD. Well, I accidentally COMPLETLY deleted the entire ZIP file and tried for about 3 days to recover it.

I failed. I actually came close to crying that day because what I had zipped was really the only things I had ever accomplished. Plus it just sucked losing it all. I didn't have any of it backed up either. I've learned quite a lesson, though. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

But enough about me.. That really sucks about your loss, I hope they do something more than give you a free year of hosting. Sorry, man.

Aside from the major panic if you're supposed to do something and poof! It's gone, I know how you feel. I haven't had the same circumstances, but I've had very similar ones.

Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

That's rather unfortunate, and you have my condolences. I suggest in the future when backing up, you either make CDs, or send backups to multiple computers.
