Nessie?

Do you think she exists?

Honestly, I'm curious to see what Massassians believe about the fabled monster. I'm doing a mock school report on it at the moment, but don't get the impression I don't believe it exists. I think there's always a chance, and I've thought of one possible theory which could account for its existence. I'll state it later if anyone's interested. (I'm also using it in my report).

Anyway, I'm not sure if anytihng's been posted on it before, so please no old n3ws. So, any theories anyone? :D

I say it exhists. I propose we pump the Loch and then attack the monster. I bet someone on Ebay would pay a fortune for its body.

I say no

I say no, but I believe that, however extremely unlikely, it is possible.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

I say yes. And if not in the Loch per se, definatly in the dark recesses of one of the many African jungles...

I believe at some point Loch Ness was inhabited by a large aquatic creature that spawned the "Nessie" legend. Do I think something's still there? I doubt it.
2004-10-08, 7:08 PM #8
I think SOMETHING lives in SOME large body of water, and I think it spawned a Loch Ness theory, but I cartainly don't think it's on the scope anyone claims it to be. It's probably just some lost sea-manite, or maybe a sea-geraffe.

Didn't the Scottish government already drain Loch Ness and found nothing but a few rusty shopping carts?

I believe there was some kind of creature which started the whole thing off, however it's probably long gone by now. Also, I think people's imagination probably got quite carried away too.....

There was no scottish goverment until today when the new parliament was opened at holyrood in edinburgh.

I know someone from the area around loch ness and the locals all know that its just a story, but they keep the legend alive for tourist income...
nope.

Hell, don't even bother draining it. Just drag a big net from one end to the other and see what you catch.

Either that or just nuke it.

They didn't drain the lake, but they did rake it, so I can safely say the Loch Ness monster does not exist. :)
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Some friends and I made a movie about that and we came to the conclusions that Nessie and his wife moved to their Uncle who lives in Atlantis, because the humans that were allways visiting Loch Ness were disturbing them too much.

It does exist.

There have been several recent sightings of it at my school in the downstairs boys' bathroom.

I don't think Nessie exists. All of the photographic evidence is a series of hoaxes and it grew because of people jumping to conclusions.

BTW, I've been to Loch Ness. It's pretty nice, except it looks exactly like the other lochs in that area :).

I'm surprised that the majority of people have said yes. With all this modern technology don't you think there would be more concrete proof besides sketchy reports and photos?

Actually, I said no. And what Mikus said.

My post was sarcastic, though it wasn't necessarily obvious :)

The first one, isn't actually Nessie, it's "Champ" from Lake Champlain in Canada. As for the sources claiming that those are proven fakes, I'd like to see them.

I've never heard of Champ, and it has nothing to do with Nessie. Champ's not the Loch Ness monster.
