Dumb. I'm not a skeptic on the EVP, as it's a very interesting reoccurence (I do think a lot of supposed EVP recordings are complete BS), but that movie looks horrible.

Meh.

Saw one of the most brilliantly dreadful and ominous movies ever at the Helsinki International Film Festival two weeks ago, and this just doesn't seem to compare :)

Check out Takashi Miike's One Missed Call if you ever get the chance. Very few cheap "jump moments", not much gore (by Takashi Miike standards), it does have the scariest inhalator hisses ever, and several moments so suspenseful that everybody in the audience just sank low into their seats and gripped the armrests. Of course it also ends with a typical "WTF!?!" Takashi Miike ending
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

the white noise theory looks crude but the film looks like a decent flick, nothing particuarly interesting though.

My guess is that it'll go the way of The Mothman Prophecies, a fairly decent flick, but little factual information on the subject it's based on.
