This saturday I read an article about a "gym" that teaches this Russian martial art called systema. I'm interested in checking it out and wondered if anybody here had further information...

Yeah, thanks for coming out, smart ***. See, I already read the article - I posted knowing that several people around here study martial arts, and was looking for information from guys who are in the know.

Systema is a fairly interesting system. It has influences from many different regions, and is supposed to be a combination of fighting techniques collected in defense of the motherland. It's pretty popular as the KGB fighting system. I'd say it's pretty similar in concepts to Krav Maga. I wouldn't turn down the oppritunity to at least take a few classes.
