Brief backstory: My dad owns a small computer/networking company. This means I often get to 'play with the goodies' before he uses them at work/gives them to customers.

Two weeks ago: A customer of his ordered a $2200, 23 inch Sony LCD moniter. It came in, and when my dad was testing it, it broke. For no reason...

Today: The replacement came in. Seeing as the customer wasn't expecting it until Friday, and it shipped two or three days early... He brought it home.

Now: I am currently gazing into the glory that is a 23" LCD moniter. I am running at 1920x1200 resolution, and having a blast. This baby has a TOUCHSCREEN menu on the side. (It's a black strip, touch it, and a bunch of lights appear, (the different menus, like a normal moniter has buttons. This baby has a touchstrip.)).

So uh.. to make this post legit...

How much would you give for a free 23" LCD moniter, even if you could only use it for 2 or 3 days, and what would you do with it?

OK, I realise a lot of you will find this hard to beleive, but, imo 23" is just too damn big.
In fact, anything above a 19" flat is too damn big.
So if I had a 23" for a few days, I'd probably watch a movie on it, then plug my old one back in for gaming.

I'd give nothing. Why you ask? Because I already own a 21" monitor. What's an extra 2 inches? Only mine isn't LCD, which I only slightly am envious of.

However, I think I'd sell my soul to gain possession of Apple's 30" Cinema Display. I don't care what any of you say, 30" is godlike.

Uh, if I found out someone else (unauthorized) was using my $2,000+ moniter I would surely have some heads on pikes. Am I the only one who feels this way? I don't think you should mess with his stuff...

Well, the first one broke after about 20 minutes of use, for no reason whatsoever. (Not my fault, my dad was using it)

Eh.. you people are making a really big fuss over nothing.. By 'playing' with it, I don't mean I was running in the fields with it in my arms, skipping and frolicing to my heart's content. I was actually testing it to make sure that it didn't break after 30 minutes of use... (again)

Oh. And I think I'm misrepresenting my dad's job. It's not like he works at Best Buy and someone bought this moniter. He owns a small computer business, and the customer is a company, so obviously you would want to make sure that the customer is happy and that the customer's stuff works before you give it to them..
