Fund-Raising Ideas!
2004-10-18, 10:29 PM #1
I need to help someone out with some fund-raising, has anyone seen/heard of any particularly interesting, effective, or fun ways to raise money that could be carried out at school by a small group of people (5-10)?
Obvious ideas are:
-A bake sale
-A raffle
-One-of-them-things-where-you-guess--how-much-is-in-the-jar

And that's pretty much all I got. Any suggestions?

Somehow I think my Catholic high school would be a wee bit opposed to running a casino in the foyer ;)

Um... Spork how do I get them into 2 pieces? 'Round Canadatown hacking people up with axes is against the law... Maybe things are different down their in Kangarooland.

Also, wouldn't they be sexier if their torsos and legs were still attached?

Hah, that's clever.

No really, it is.

You need:
1 A teacher with a good sense of humour
2 A large target board with a hole for a teacher-sized head
3 Water balloons

Dinners with raffles are usually pretty good. My high school always did that.

A few years back, our French class held a very successful trivia night to help pay for our trip to New Caledonia.

My frined and I needed cash so we dressed up like pirates, set up outside the mall and I played guitar and he sang for money. It was great.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

Did you take people's purses and pillage wallets when they weren't looking?

Begging.
Really it works. The freshmen always give money.

Try a competition of some sort. Charge entry fee. Then select cheap prizes for the winners.

Or a mini-fun fair.

Or blackmarket human organs donations.

Hey, I could see that working.
Get a couple of poeple to dress up like beggars and go 'round asking for donations.
Make sure they have paper bags with bottles in them etc

Me and three other people raised over $800 last year by raffling off a cow's worth of meat. Of course we really went for the "support Canadian Beef!" angle, even though all they were really supporting was our club.

Well, you get some kind of largish rifle and then run down the main drag firing wildly and screaming, "GIVE MONEY TO [whatever]! IT'S A GOOD CAUSE!"

Raffle them off.

Or you could just sell cigarettes. Try it. Works when I need cash. 50ยข per smoke gets you $10 a pack. I used to do it at school.
Hazard a company one process.
