I absolutely loved them when I was in middle school, back when there was still only about 5 of them. The oldest ones are the best, about the time he wrote Outcast of Redwall, they started becoming very Formulaic.

If you like Redwall, you should read Watership Down, by Richard Addams. By far one of the best books I have ever read.

Agreed. I did like the Long Patrol, however. :)

Outcast of Redwall was also my favorite, though I haven't read any of the Redwall books in years. I figured they were getting worse and worse

nope.

They were formulaic from the start. Hero with a mission, lots and lots of eating, some people on the side trying to help. Red currant ale and pasties!

I had fun with a couple of them.

I got as far as Triss, but a few Chapters into that I realized that it was indeed very formulaic, I could predict almost everything that was going to happen. :p

Mossflower was the first one I read, and still the coolest.

I used to absolutely love them about 4-5 years ago. I can't say I've read that many recently, though. My favourites were Redwall, and Martin the Warrior.

During middle school i read all of them, while doing numerous reports on them. They are easy to read and highly entertaining. I read like 12 of them within 6 months, but i only own one.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I used to love those books, but I haven't read any of them in a good long while.
I bet you think that's funny, don't you.

YES! I LOVED this book. It was /fantastic/. One of the few books I've read as a youngin that I still remember putting down and thinking "Wow. That was fantastic."

I need to read it again.

And yes, the original redwall books were quite good, but it became boring and unoriginal after a while.

Just finished the first redwall, and now am working on mattimeo. They are good books, but towards the end of the series I see them becoming highly repetitive.

When I was in middle school, I red the original (I think it was just called "Redwall?") for english class. It was ok, but I never read any of the others.

"Even longer," Pooh replied.

I read a couple of them, liked them, but they were highly repetiive. I don't remember which ones I read, but I rememmber Martin the Warrior being the best one I did read.
