Help! Books about the 1970's?

For my American History class, I am required to read a book about a certain decade (related to American history) and to write a review of it. The book can cover a variety of subjects; it doesn't have to be a general book about the whole decade.

Examples of topics the book(s) can discuss:

Events: Watergate, oil prices, Iranian hostages, etc
'70s culture (music, movies, etc)
Famous people: Nixon, Carter, etc

It needs to be of reasonable length (can't remember exact requirement... somewhere beyond 200 pages would be good). It can be fictional if the fiction is relevant. An example of such a book would be The Jungle, but that clearly doesn't have anything to do with the 1970's...

Suggestions?

All I can think of is James Ellroy crime thillers, but they're more around the 50s and 60s.

They do have real famous people like JFK, Howard Hughs etc in them, and a hell of a lot about American culture at the time.

Donnie Brasco takes place during the 1970's, and its a true story. I havent read it, but I hear its pretty good.

VH1's "I Love the 70's" probably won't help. :(

You could read All the President's Men by Bob Woodward and Bernstein (forget his first name), the two reporters who figured Nixon out.
