Baldur's Gate 1 with the Baldur's Gate 2 engine mod

I just came across this mod recently.

Features:

-support for higher screen resolutions
-improved spell effects
-etc.

What it requires:

-Full install of Baldur's Gate (and preferably Tales of the Sword coast)

*NOTE* For a complete install of BG1, you must choose a custom installation during the setup program

-Full install of Baldur's Gate 2 (Throne of Bhaal is supported but not needed)

Complete mod (and installation instructions) are here:

Some additional notes:

1) You can't play regular Baldur's Gate 2 after installing the mod (there is an uninstall utility, but it does not work well. Once you're finished with BG1, just reinstall BG2 completely).

2) You must install all official patches for both games (can be found on bioware.com) --PRIOR-- to starting the conversion

3) It is also recommended to install some custom Baldur's Gate fixes prior to the conversion, including a fan-made fix pack from this site
http://www.baldurdash.org/

4) Remeber to also install the seperate v5 patch. After installing v4, install the v5 patch to the Baldur's Gate 2 folder and run the corresponding .exe file there to complete the patching process.

5) The mod works flawlessly by the way. Some people have a green border around loading screens though (minor annoyance). The game has been tested and played through with this mod by hundreds of people.

Looks awesome. That's one thing I never liked about Baldur's Gate, the resolution was way too small. Unfortunately I don't have BG2, hell, I havn't even played through TOTSC completly yet. Maybe I should go do that.

You'll love BG2. I sure did. Huge *** hit.

PS: I might try this. When I get a bigger Hard Drive.
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

That's great! Thanks. I just bought BG1 but now I will definitely get BG2, too.
Sorry for the lousy German
