My friend is here tonight with his lap top. I have roadrunner cable on my computer, and he wants to connect to the internet too. He has the cables plugged in and everything and when we go to network it says the LAN is enabled but the internet is still not working. Any help?

Well, i can't tell alot with that info, but i suggest restarting the modem and laptop at the same time, keeping the Laptop off until the modem is fully reinitialized. that normally works when my modem goes on the fritz, but like i said i can't tell alot from your post.

Start, Run, cmd [enter]. ipconfig [enter] If the address is something like 169.x.x.x, then he's probably not getting one.
