Oh my god. I would have paid so much money to be sitting in that audience. I would have screamed out some horrific and witty phrase, as the SNL bouncers beat me to a bloody midget-pulp. That would be the best way to go.

No, I saw the whole thing on TV last night. Wasn't a joke. There was a video clip uploaded somewhere, but it's down now.

She was introduced, music starts playing for her first song, she hops around on stage like a moron while her words for the first song are coming out of the speakers. Then after a while she walks off stage, and they cut to commercial. Then at the end of the show when they all get together on the main stage (which is what that picture's from), she said "Sorry, my band started playing the wrong song, so I decided to do a little ho-down." or something to that effect. heh

I will give much happiness to the person who finds a clip of this online. :)

But this issue of lip-synching doesn't really surprise me though. It just makes some media stars seem to possess more talent then they really have. Sigh.

Ya know, when I watched it, I could have sworn it sounded like a background vocal track had started, not a lipsynch track.

But that's just what one person thinks, I'm not of the mindset to constantly attack everything "pop" whenever I can.

Crap, I didn't know there was a thread about this already.

It's bad enough that she lip-syncs, but it's even worse that she blames her band.

Darth Vader had it easy -- he was wearing a mask.

To cover for my potential stupidity, there were two actors for Vader right? One the voice, the other the body? Like Gorc 'n Pic...

Also, I need to go back and re-read the thread about thread about using spoiler tags.

Vader was David Prowse in the suit, and James Earl Jones as the voice.

If you've seen the documentary on the DVD's, you'd know that this was a good thing. David Prowse doesn't have a very intimidating voice.

she said she decided on a hoe down...but i dont remember her getting on the ground :( (ba-dum-pshhhh!)

I loved how her band was laughing when she walked off stage probably thinking, "well there goes her career...at least we have our own talent to keep us going"

owned. Sing your own song damn it... guess it proves one thing. She can't sing worth a damn live it's the studio computers that make her sound good.

The funny thing is, if you look at her sister Jessica Simpson, she's successful, but she's 1000X dumber than a rusty doorknob.

I'm just tired of celebrities or siblings of celebrities trying to pass off as pop stars. All the Disney-made kids including Spears, Lohan, and Duff have no real talent and just lip-sync the songs other people have written for them. If you ever saw the MTV thing on Ashlee Simpson making "her album" you would have realized she cant sing because... she cant.

****in ***** got what was coming to her for being a phony.

I like the CNN story on it, they try to make it seem as though everyone uses taped tracks in order to double the voice. Ya... and then they say that it could be a guide track for the performer to hear through the monitors in order to match pitches. Whatever. If you've got any scrap of talent you know the right melody and you dont have to have a doubled vocal to sound good.

Also, just the fact that she had the mic at her hip and was trying to "dance" (which she's obviously awful at as well) when the voice started playing and then at she immediately brought the mic up to try and act like it was her singing was hilarious.

I really do wish that all lip-syncing stars would be made to have that label that someone else in this thread suggested.

"The taped track, which is being lip-synced to now, has been aided by computerized pitch corrections"
"Those ****ing amateurs... You left your dog, you idiots!"

It's kinda funny how the tone quality of her speaking voice is totally different than "her" singing voice.
