Most Underrated SP Levels (JK/MotS)
2004-10-26, 7:10 PM #1
This is the thread to discuss levels for JK and MotS you've played that you felt didn't receive nearly enough recognition. As such, saying Imperial Siege on Derra IV is probably not necessary, since it full-well received the praise it deserves.

Dark Ties, by Milhouse

Meeting at Balfor, by MikeC
http://massassi.net/levels/files/727.shtml

PotE level 1, by EvanC
http://massassi.net/levels/files/12.shtml

The Toprawa series (1 was the best, IMO), by Antilles
(again - no link, but you can find it at http://www.commandchamber.net )

^^
Seriously, this one is hardly on the map compared to how good it is.

The Dead Reckoning Series, by Christian Garris (aka Quilty)
1, 2, 3 (I particularly liked 2)

Imperial Pumping station, by Kiramin
http://massassi.net/levels/files/1366.shtml

Operation: Fortra, by Jensyx
http://massassi.net/levels/files/8.shtml

^^
Some might disagree with me on this one, but seriously, this was the most fun I've ever had with JK. It had its share of bugs, but nothing gave me such a great time as Operation: Fortra!

Remnants of the Empire 2: Lost Base on Hoth, by SavageX
http://massassi.net/levels/files/25.shtml

RotE 1, by SavageX
(no link, not in Massassi archives?)

^^
Most underrated level ever! Seriously! I know it's received a lot of praise, but not enough.

Siege on Vol Konst, by Jason Burton
(no link)

^^
Probably runner-up for most underrated level ever. And Jason Burton made this level is less than a month. It's truly mind-boggling.,

Warzone, by Mark Jones and Tom Smallwood.

I remember playing Imperial Pumping Station when it was first released. Good level.

Interestingly enough, it used to be called "Stole the Bottle," but the title seems to have been changed since then. Who knows, maybe Cave_Demon was drunk when he made it.

I was thinking about throwing that in somewhere in the middle to see if people were paying attention. :p

Mechanics of the Force

There are many others. Need some time looking.

Oh, some levels mentioned in the first post can be found at the "ever so lively" http://www.commandchamber.net

For some reason, Purgatory got very little popularity. When I played on tthe zone, people were always like "Purg wtf is that lol is it liek hell lol?"

I suppose it's not underrated, but the fact that I remembered DerraIV is testament to its quality in my eyes.

I know it's got all scores of 10, but it's THE most influential pack of levels I've ever played.

I'd prefer SP entries so I can actually play them. :P

I totally agree about MotF. I forgot about that one.

I was going to post Mechanics of the Force to add some more value to my first post, but I forgot it at an inconvenient moment.

The New Empire series were fun. PoTE was one of the first levels I ever downloaded. What ever happened to EvanC? He made some good levels and wrote some of the first tutorials. I always liked his levels. Myth of the Kaiburr Crystal was also pretty good.

Back Home to Sulon was a controlversial level, but for all its boxiness it was not half bad

I couldn't come up with too many MotS levels, mainly b/c very few poor levels were made for MotS, and nearly all of the MotS levels at the Admiral's Command Chamber were quite good. Most of the worst levels ever were made for JK.

Did "Warzone 3" ever come out? I beta tested it and it was bloody fantastic.
