Basically, when it comes to looking at blood and organs of a person, are you a type of person who must turn away from the sight or a person who can accept the image? Like in a situation of being an up-close part of a surgical procedure or helping major disaster victims. I believe this varies person to person. Some can see blood and organs just as nothing more than human tissue and objects and remain somewhat strong when handling such things. But some remain terribly uneasy and greatly uncomfortable over such sights. And share your bloodiest moments if you wish. :)

I know its a funny question to ask. Just curious. I remember my Biology class days where an assignment involving cutting a dead frog caused distress in some students.

We had to watch brain surgery in Psychology. It wasn't that bad. Then I went to do some research for a project in that class, and I found a pic of a real cross-section of a human head. That was gross.

I don't mind seeing blood or innards in a surgical sense, but I can't say how I'd react if I saw the same at the scene of an accident or something like that.

meh i'm kinda ok with seeing things like that in movies but in real life I dunno

My sisters fiance is a BioMedical Engineer in his Doctorates studies and he was telling us about these surgeries he's been to where the blood squirted to the ceiling and what not, which is just craziness (u'd have to ask him the whole story, it was something about clamping or unclamping some vein and when the Doc did that the blood squirted).

Meh I dunno, in real life when I see blood I get lightheaded. I almost fainted once at the site of blood

I rarely have a problem with blood and guts any more. I figure that I have the same stuff in me, and I might learn something by looking at it. What I really don't like is seeing injured animals that I know are right on the edge of dieing. :(
The most guts I've ever seen is when I watched my cousins skin and gut a deer after they got back from hunting. Twas quite an anatomy lesson.

I can sometimes smell blood.

I have an iron stomach, pretty much nothing bothers me.

It doesnt bother me because I know its just cells, its all part of life. Though if the person is alive and being like cut into pieces I cant stand if the person was being seen suffering.

I have a friend who works fresh produce department at a supermarket. He is the biggest horror/zombie movie fan ever. He loves anything with lots of blood and guts - as long as it's fake.

A few months back he took a nice chunk out of his palm while cutting some pumpkins, it was bleeding everywhere. He semi-feinted from the sight of his own blood. He didnt lose consciousness, but he did sorta fall down awkwardly and then refuse to look at his blood-filled palm.

It's amazing how desensitezed we are to violence on screen.

I think I would barf all over everything if I was forced to watch a surgery. There is nothing more vulgar or nasty or gross or puke-inducing than that stuff.

Organs are tasty. Raw is best, with just a hint of garlic. Oh, I also like to add a bit of lemon juice to taste. It's particularily effective when the victims are still alive...

exactly! that's close to what happened with me. I had cut myself and the site of the blood made me all lightheaded I had to sit down cuz I about passed out (haha pretty sad huh)

And knives for the life of me I cant really be around knives or around people cutting things. I get the willies. I always start thinking the person doing the cutting is going to cut themselves or someone else and blood will go everywhere. Bleh! I just cant take it. Makes me all woozy

I can easily watch a surgical procedure done. That stuff fascinates me. I'm not bothered by it one bit. Except for slight variations, your organs look like the ones being operated on.

I once couldn't eat lunch because just prior I had dissected a shark, opened up its stomach, and looked at the thousands and thousands of ground up, half-digested shrimp in there. It was just a mess of pink goo, with thousands and thousands of pairs of black, beady little eyes.

Then I opened up my sack lunch my mom made for me... it was tuna fish. I just gave me food to a friend..

Bleck! LMAO see that's exactly why i dont eat seafood.

Back in the day when we were living on the Military base back near cocoa beach my mom was cooking octopus and I went by the kitchen and was like "mm smells good in here" and I looked and she's stirring the pot and the tentacles are moving around as she stirred them  and that was it for me.

Since then I've never had seafood lol. It's rare. And the thought of fish swimming in ocean all by like barnacles that U find on piers and what have u bleh, makes my skin crawl.

and shrimp with those little black eyes, and if you dont devein them sickness!

Yes I eat steak but I dont focus on that too much and chicken for that matter, but seafood for some reason I just cant bring myself to eat. [/rant]

I find the worst part is cutting of the skin tissue. Like an incision.

I could perform an autopsy on a rotten corpse and then go have lunch. Back in biology class, one of the guys started a gut fight by throwing a frog liver at me, I retaliated by throwing intestines at him. All the girls were ducking and screaming :D

Also, I got to manipulate a human brain, disect a frog, a rat, a human eye, a heart (not human), and several other less important parts (muscles, etc.)

I don't mind blood and organs, just as long as they're not mine or from someone I know.

Gotta love seeing a camera moving down your throat to your stomach. After that, I haven't had any problems with blood and stuff.

I love the sight and taste of blood, think I'm a bit odd.
Most organs and stuff I'm ok with.
Diseased reproductive organs make me hurl, however.

as long as the blood isn't mine, i'm alright.....I've passed out 3 times from needles...twice when i got my blood taken (and that's as many times as i've had it taken, so i am nervous about getting it taken again...) and once from a hepatitis b shot cause my blood squirted out and down my arm when they stuck me. i wake up and see flashes up everybody in my face and i'm all hyperventilated. geez i bet i could die if i went to the blood bank.

Blood, in any form, does not bother me, as almost daily, some sort of scratch or injury has caused me to bleed. However, other tissue might make me feel not quite as stable, depending on the situation; a disection or surgery is not problem, but tissue/organs damaged via accident or violent intent would probably make me feel at least a little queasy.

Oh yeah, that reminds me.. once I took a field trip to some kind of hospital or blood bank or something when I was in third grade. The teacher noticed I was looking really pale and weak from all that blood, so I got to lounge around with a bunch of docs and nurses in this nifty little room instead of looking at all the blood like the rest of my class. It was awesome!

I have a situational tolerance.

Entertainment - As long as its fake, no problem

Blood - Never a problem, be it mine or others. Needles of nearly any size don't really bother me either except an adrenaline shot to the heart (see Pulp Fiction or The Rock) who wouldn't be scared of that?

Surgical / Scientific - I can watch it and/or perform it as long as it's not on me, no problem. And if it is on me, better be some ******* good drugs involved

Accidental - This is the big one, If I'm involved or present, I've no choice but to handle the situation, I was trained that way. Granted I hate seeing pictures of gruesome incidents after the fact despite being involved or not.

Violence - See above

I don't have problems watching a surgery. It's just when see people getting torn to shreds in movies, I cringe, but I keep watching.

As for seeing it happen in real life, I cringe... a lot. The sight of blood wouldn't cause me to faint but seeing somebody splattered is just unsightly horrible.
No sig.

Violent gore and blood is no problem for me. People at horrific accident scenes are no problem for me. Seeing bag after bag of human blood stored in plastic bags makes me feint. Seing a surgery would make me throw up, then feint, then have a stroke.
