Divx problem
2004-04-09, 5:44 PM #1
one of my computers (the one running WinXP corporate) has trouble playing divx-encoded files. (I get an error saying something along the lines of unknown format) I installed the codec, but nothing helps. Any idea what it can be and how it can be fixed?

I tried win. media player and the divx player (which should play divx if it's going to play anything at all, wouldn't you think? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] )

did you install the codec, then restart, or just install it. Also, try WinAmp...never know.

Download and install the vidomi player / codec and then never use the player...

Its possible that your problem might be the audio codec thats required, not the video codec. (.avi files use two different codecs, one for the video and one for the audio)

I suggest downloading AVICodec. It will analyze your video files, tell you what video and audio codecs you need to run them, and in most cases, where to download them.

Also, I'm moving this to the technology forum... because yeah, its about technology. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
