I have a bit of an interest in ghosts and the paranormal and stuff, and I love the Ghostbuster movies, so I watched an episode of this a few weeks ago...the first episode, I think. It was exactly how I imagined these ghost busters operate...which was pretty funny.
The little club of entrepeneur "Ghost Hunters" is the most unprofessional, unqualified group of individuals...even for professional ghost busters. I don't claim to know more about catching ghosts or anything than them, but the way they run their little operation is so...I don't know, stupid, I guess? "Uh....let's try setting up some HEAT CAMERAS and let's all wear NIGHT VISSION GOGGLES, that's how you see ghosts!"
What are they even trying to do, what service does their business offer? Pay them hundreds of dollars so they can justify using all this high-tech equipment and spending all their money on a useless, dead end career? I mean, they don't have any ecto-containment units or proton accelerators (like REAL Ghostbusters) so what do the hotel owners and stuff do with the..."evidence" this team gathers? "Okay, you think there's some ghosts in my old theatre. Alright, great, thanks."
And the best part of the show is, you know that team leader guy has come to the same conclusions. You can almost hear him thinking to himself "what the heck am I doing with my life...who are these morons I'm surrounding myself with?" He's so obviously regretting this career choice...understandably. Luckily he's got his plumbing operation to fall back on.
So it's an entertaining show, I suppose. In the same way watching the bad singers at the beginning of American Idol is entertaining, though...it's kind of funny, but mostly just sad.
