Not a bad idea if you live with someone who has a heart condition. A defibrillator is a lot better at restarting the heart than plain old CPR

Those are actually a lot more common than you think. Every school has at least one, and a lot of public places like malls, musuems, offices, airports, etc, (and even airplanes and busses) usually have a couple on hand. Learning how to use them has pretty much become a standard part of any CPR Certification class.

as an electrician...I really want one of these...I can think of all sorts of useful things I could do with that...'specially on the boat...heheheheh....metal bunk beds...*cue diabolical, evil laughter* muwahahahahaaa.....fun.

Yeah, those things are awesome. Apparently there's a ton of them in Edmonton, and because of it their rate of cardiac arrest is incredibly low.

One of the awesome thing is it measure how much fat and bone it has to shock through. Cool technology :D
