The thing is, Bio engineered life dosn't last nearly as long as "normal" life, and is prone to more injurys and illnesses, etc. I wounder what...feeling...BE'ed animals have. You can call that feeling a "sprirt" if you will. Do they just think? Or do they know?

Anyways, I'm happy with my cat Shadow the way I am. Interesting artical, though, THRAWN.

You know, I'd assume that the protein is good for the cats, if it's something all cats tend to share, wouldn't you? In that case, what is it going to do to my cat, now that it can't produce these proteins?

As well, I like how they've spayed and neutered these cats, so that they're completelly unable to reproduce, and breed new life. That way, we've whiped out a new [biologically inhanced] species of cat, just so no one else can make a profit off of it...

Sounds fishy, or catty to me.

Dont you mean $3,500? The cloned pets are $50,000, the genetically engineered cats are much cheaper.

even if you did clone your pet, all you would get would be a simple genetic replicant, not the same pet in a new body. Although it may lookperfectly like the original, it may act totally different, so what is the point?

Sorry, but that image really doesnt belong here. -DSettahr

It may not even look like the original cat either. Prove me wrong here, but I think I heard somewhere that when something is cloned, it would have to endure the EXACT physical lifestyle that its "parent" had.

We can bio-engineer cats but we don't have any giant fighting robots? How about it science?
It's not a good comando name

What logical basis could there possibly be for a "soulless" cat? (Or soulless human clones, as the case may be). Honestly, I really would like to know. I've never heard one yet, and don't expect to.

Giant fighting robots? *adds to list of robots that need to be created*

Now, do you mean autonomous robots, or more like MechWarrior type things? Because they are working on a powered exoskeleton for the military, and it wouldn't be much of a stretch to imagine them adding some armor, a machine gun, maybe a rocket launcher...

Just because the cat is created through genetic engeneering doesn't mean it's some kind of robot...it's a real cat, created through artificial means.
