Yea, well for anyone who has read my other topic, I needed to buy a new case. I have evened down to a couple of cases. However both these cases have silver fronts. Now, in my current case I have a beige Floppy and 16X DVD-ROM drive. Now, seeing as I obviously have a slight hint of OCD, I just can't ruin a silver case with beige drives, so what I was wondering was if someone would be willing to part with their silver floppy or DVD-ROM drives in exchange for some beige ones. However, silver drives are a bit more expensive obviously, so in exchange for the drives, I would also be willing to pay an extra $5 for each of them as well. Oh, and just for reference, my DVD-ROM is a Sony, and I'm not sure what brand the floppy is.

Actually, after looking at the cases, the face plates are silver but the borders are black, so I could possibly use a black DVD if it's 16X, but I'd be more preferential to silver. And the floppy drive has to be silver.

Why don't you just paint them?

I've got a black CD-drive, but I'm afraid I'm equally OCD. :(

The suggestion to paint them is your best bet. Drive faces are REALLY easy to paint. Just pick up some silver enamel from the models section of whatever store you're familiar with, match the color to your case and paint away. It'll work alot better, and without shipping and the likes, will be cheaper. :)

Yea, I'm not to sure how to take face plates and stuff off without breaking them. And I can't see how I'll be able to match the exact color of the case with paint. I'd buy the drives online, as a silver floppy only cost around $10, but the cheapest I can find a decent silver DVD is $40, which is kinda ridiculous.

I'd wait until your case came before doing anything. When I built mine, the case shipped with faceplates for two CD/DVD drives, and a floppy. None of which were mentioned when I bought it, or shown in a picture. It kinda made my ordering of black drives redundant.

See what you get before you do anything.

Well according to the pictures on newegg, the faceplates are solid, unlike my old case in which there were faceplates made specifically for the floppy drive to sit behind.

40 bucks for a DVD drive is perfectly feasible--especially specialized color (silver; not many people have a silver case). Just prepare to pay a bit more when you get somewhat unused cases.

I think it's a bit stupid I can get a beige DVD for around $20-25 dollars yet it costs me $15 more for a different color. Which is why I'm trying to trade around here, I'd like to save my money.

I bought my case off NewEgg. The pictures showed none of that. I was lead to believe that those drive covers were solid.

Wait and see what you get. Failing that, just get some silver spray paint. It won't kill the drive, and you'll be done faster than if you traded with someone. Not to mention you'll still be saving money.

$15 is ridiculous to get a different color.

But it's still just $15. It'd be around that price if you bought it in a store--probably more, actually.
