Why comic fans should make the movies

I posted this originally on TACC which is struggling to recover from near death. Anyways, I wasn't happy with the lack of responses so I'll try over here. Again, it's a quote of my post at TACC so that is why there are Massassi references.

I was going to post this over at Massassi where actual discussions seem to take place now but I decided to come home and try to help revitalize this place.

At Massassi they're all going gah-gah in a thread about some CNN Crossfire clip with Jon Stewart. Well, on a link to the clip at ifilm.com I noticed a Superman/Batman film was popular. Turns out it was by the same guy that did Batman: Dead End which I believe I posted here in the past. So I went to theforce.net and found those two as well as another by someone else. All pretty high quality stuff. Anyways, here are the links so I hope some of you will download these and discuss!

Batman: Dead End
World's Finest
Grayson

Now I think I'll hit google.com and try to find some Marvel fan films!

All of the videos will stream at Ifilm if you don't care to download.

edit - Batman: Dead End was posted here in the past. That's how I first found it.

I thought Grayson was good up until they started throwing in every hero and his brother.

IMO, Marvel films are >>>> DC films, same with the comics.

Spiderman and X-Men > Superman, Daredevil (they are DC aren't they? Might be marvel, I don't follow the series), Punisher, and the Hulk

Daredevil, Hulk and Punisher are all Marvel.

DC is Superman, Batman, Justice League, and so on.

They are all up and down. Superman and Superman II were great movies. First two Batman films. The rest of mainstream DC would be crap.

All modern post Spiderman marvel films are great. They had some older not great but not terrible films.

The films I link to are fan films though and quite good.

Bah... "Batman Begins" will kick every Marvel movie's arse...

Although, maybe I'm still bitter becuase I missed "Spider-Man 2" in the cinema.

[edit: "Blade" is another Marvel comic, surprised no one's mentioned that yet.]

Correct. I was off on my chronology. Blade was the beginning of Marvel's movie domination with regards to comics. Basically when that Israeli guy took over (only worded like that because I forget his name).

That's the guy. Pulled Marvel out of the crapper as well as started getting good movies made.

Despite the fact that I own Marvel vs. Capcom 2, I keep forgetting the Hulk is marvel. And I always forget the Punisher and Daredevil are marvel.

They really raped the batmobile though, as far as I've seen...

It's an early Batmobile. Maybe it took a little time for Bruce Wayne to get all the kinks worked out. :p

You guys want to see TRUE MARVEL cinema at it's best? Go locate a copy of the un-released Fantastic Four movie. The Human Torch looks like Buzz Lightyear on fire (I kid you not). The story is incredibly stupid, the acting is worst and it's just...amazing how pathetic it is. Reed Richards is like 22 in the beginning and Susan Storm is like 12. Then at the end, she is 19 and he is...22?!

Oh and then there is the fake hand on the stick he sticks out the limo roof. Oh yeah, baby!

Mikus, actually, they showed a scene with the new Batmobile at a comic convention and people literally stood and applauded. What happens is Wayne Industries designed it as an assault transport for troops and Wayne was watching it being tested and when the designers of it asked if he liked it, his response? "Does it come in black?" Supposedly it's getting alot of good stuff from those who've seen it on screen.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

Ok, I did a google image search and found an actual CGI IMAGE FROM THE MOVIE with the Human Torch. I am not joking people, THIS IS FROM THE MOVIE. I've seen it, and after I saw this, I literally rewound to watch it again and be sure I was witnessing what I was seeing. This was the worst CGI I have ever seen.

Are you sure that isn't from a cartoon?

that "movie" was made just so the company that had bought the rights to make a movie based on that property could still hold the rights according to the contract.

there is currently a FF movie in production, and a few of the cast members are the chick from Dark Angel(Sue Storm/Richards), the guy from the Shield(the Thing), and one of the doctors off of Nip/Tuck(Dr. Doom).

I've seen the movie. I watched that scene alone like 5 times. It's from the movie.

I think I've seen that video, it was available for download awhile back. It's pretty pathetic...theres that APC looking Batmobile, speeding around streets. It just looks ridiculous.

One thing I really hate about this is that I grew up on the animated series, and in the multiparter "World's Finest" Bruce Wayne clearly states he does not develop or support development of military tools. That's more for something like Luthorcorp.

Jedigreedo, well the cartoons do not follow the comics. Wayne Tech does develop weapons for military and police. In one of the Batman/Predator comics, Batman used a helicopter he built for the Gothan Police to fight a Predator.

The video you saw may of been different? The one I read about was not the Batmobile cruising through the streets. Bruce Wayne however was watching his vehicle and specifically asked for it to be in black. Maybe it was the same one, not sure. I had only just read about the video within the last month and a half.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.
