I had a laptop four years ago when I first started college. It was a 533 mhz, 64 MB RAM, 8 MB on board video card and a 6 gig hard drive. It played JK really well.

Dell Latitude c400 running Debian Sid. I use it as a diagnostic tool, serial console, network ducky, etc. Couldnt live without it.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Q. How many testers does it take to change a light bulb?
A. We just noticed the room was dark; we don't actually fix the problems.

I remember back in '99 when my dad brought his new laptop home from work. Our PC at that time was still a P100, and his laptop was a 650 Mhz P3, with 256 megs of RAM and a DVD-ROM drive. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen. First thing I did was pop in JK, max out the resolution, and just stare at the framerate (was in the 60's or 70's i think). My home computer would run JK at about 15 fps, at 320*240 res.

Also, there is the time in '91 when my dad brought home his laptop... I was only 5 at the time. But I remember quite distinctly, this laptop had about a 13" monochrome (orange and black in this case) screen, and was the size of a thick briefcase. I'm not sure of how fast it was.

My father bought a cheap Laptop about 3 years ago. It cosed about 1100€ at a discounter. It was a Intel 2,0 ghz (not pentium) with 256 MB Ram and 20 gigs of ram and a Radoen Mobility 7500. Though than that sounded great the laptop was crap since it was almost more time at the support tahn used by us. So he got a new one, an Acer TravelMate 291LMi, and it rocks. Pentium-m 1.4 ghz, 15", Ati Mobility Radeon 9700 with 64MB ram, 60 GB HD, DVD Writer, 512MB Ram. And it's extremely stable, made of good material. Great! :) And even better since my father is gone for a week :)
