Does anyone care about celebrities and politics?

In the days leading to important political events, P. Diddy drove around the country telling people to go out and vote. I guess people need to be reminded to practice their rights. The music singer Cher voiced her "opinion" on America's foreign policies. Ashton Kutcher went around states taking about how he got "Punk'd" by Bush. DeCaprio, along with others, did a "Rock the Vote" ad, those annoying announcements aimed at young people, and hopped on the political campaigns. Other stars tried to add "starpower" to political issues. Oh well.

I know Hollywood had some part into the politicl world for years, often spending much money in the process. Celebrities have the right to hold an opinion and express it. But in many times, they get much easily-ignored publicity doing so. Does anyone really care, other then fans, on what they say and believe? I don't really see them bring up any new points/ideas.

I don't.

Yes they have every right to express their opinion. Some just spouse off liberal talking points and bash Bush all the live long day (Cher, Babs, Moore, etc). Some actually will take challenges from the other side. I remember watching The O'Reilly Factor where he interviewed Alec Baldwin. I think Baldwin did hold his own. I do not agree with what he says but he defends his position. I have more respect for those people than those who just go off on tyraids.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I couldn't care less what celebrities are doing. What with all the money that is bound to be changing hands somewhere behind the scenes.

I don't ever care to listen to celebrities and their politics. They are quite predictable because everyone and their dog in Hollywood is a radical liberal. Considering that I'm the opposite, I won't bother lending and ear to them.

...however, P. diddy seems to have a good agenda with the election. The fact that he is being non-partiscan and passionate to get those that usually don't vote to get to the polls is quite commendable.

I have no problemif they are out encouraging people to vote, leading voting drives, things like that. What I don't like is when they use their celebritiy status as soapbox.

no
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

I agree.

I care about who celebrities vote for, because I tend to automatically vote for someone else. Sadly, most celebrities are about as deep a mug of coffee.
