Take the test here.

Excuse my bad screenshot.

I'm a bit surprised considering that it has been three years since I last took one of these test in schools. Even then, I only averaged out 70 WPM.

Yea, I think you could've cropped that image.

What plugin does it use? Firefox isn't finding it.

Dude, why would you even take a screenshot of the results? Wouldn't it be easier to copy and paste them? (Especially since I KNOW that's too big to attach to the post)

Anyways, I get about 70 WPM.

Java probably. These tests are inaccurate--you forget that most of the time you are typing from memory or from the mind at least, which is a lot easier than from something you just read. Also you can't really delete inaccurate words, which irks me.

I don't liek this test. I think I have a decent typing speed of at least 60 but I keep getting scores like 40 wpm because I'm horrible at during dictations (not as in dictator, mind you). Because of that, the scores I'm getting, IMO, is not my true typing speed.

I can't be bothered to take this test. But I took a data entry test at a recruitmen agency a few weeks back, worked out about 8000 characters per hour and 97% accuracy (I made one spelling mistake).

I'm to lazy to wait for java to load for this, but at the TTI class I goto, the teacher says that 40 WPM was *very* high. Boy was he surprised when he found out I typed an average of 68 WPM

Typing for accuracy: 100% accuracy, 65 WPM. (what I normally do for short things)
Typing for speed: 91% accuracy, 96 WPM. (What I normally do when typing massive papers, or anything subject to proof-reading)

Normal rate for posting messages on bulleting boards like Massassi: 99% accuracy, ~30WPM, counting time spent clicking "submit post", thinking of what to type, etc. This is the figure that really matters.:D

I posted a screenshot because people at another board didn't believe me. Go figure, considering there are some faster people here.

Well, that's not surprising, considering that most of the people on the internet don't actually happen to posess a substantial ammount of computer skills, such as typing. Here at Massassi, at the other hand, many of us are uber-geeks, and fast typing comes to us naturally... (even if I'm among the slower ones of us here, with only 65 WPM for 100% accuracy)

BTW, I type using my thumb, index, and middle fingers on my left hand, and my index finger on my right hand, so I have a lot of full forearm motion going on when I type.
