Since a lot of Americans dont vote, I'm just wondering why those of you who did not vote decided to stay home.

That's rediculous... They spend billions on advertising for the whole thing, cant they spend a few million for some more voting stations?

Heb, a lot of people in another state are suing the state because they received their ballots late. I forget which state. But they're going to accept absentee ballots for an extra week or two because of it.

Received my absentee ballot later than usual. I was thinking it had to be postmarked by election day, I was wrong. That's only for absentee voters outside the country. So yeah, I'm a deadbeat this year.

I WAS DISENFRANCHISED.

Actually Michigan has a 30 day registration thingy, and I didn't register in time to be able to vote.

Because neither of these guys are worth voting for and I don't want to end up simply voting for the better of two evils...

If you're a Democrat and you live in Texas or Kansas or somewhere, there really isn't any point in voting at all. The soutern states will always be Republican, so there isn't much point in voting democrat, because of the all-of-nothing system of the electoral college.

Some states are not all-or-none, but I dont know which ones other than Maine. But with that idealism, then if you live in New England or the west coast you shouldn't bother to vote if you're Republican. Which means nothing would ever change.

Well, some states won't ever change, until something drastically radical happens.

This is the fundemental problem with the United States, and the concept of a constitution in general; it opposes change, and makes changing things much much harder. It doesn't really matter who is president, because the system will still be the same. And even if he could, he probably wouldn't want to, as the president has to be quite wealthy in order to run for president in the first place he will tend to be of a somewhat conservative nature. So the country will never experience radical change. And so people in those all-or-none states will still have no reason to go out and vote.
