So for some odd reason, I didn't get my absentee ballot until yesterday. I fill it out, and put it in the mail on November 2nd. Sure I know they're supposed to be in by 7:30 and all that, but it didn't have to go too far.

The mail system in my dorm goes something like this:

You put your mail in the outgoing mail box, and the guy at the front desk sorts it, and gives it to the postman.

I put my envelope in there, and later, when I check my mail, I find my absentee ballot envelope in there. It's got a note on it telling me how I should have mailed it earlier.

I don't know about you, but I am REALLY pissed off about this. My mother mails me stuff all the time that arrives the next day, and this was first class mail. And even regardless of whether it would have gotten there or not, it's not his choice. They call that a Federal Offense. That guy has no business ****ing with my mail. I feel like calling the five o on him. **** that *******.

Actually it only had to be postmarked by today. The mail guy ****ed you real good, you could potentially use legal action on him because that is a felony.

what you should have done was to go to your nearest polling place and hand it in there.

Then don't vote early. It accomplishes nothing. Your candidate won’t benefit if you vote early.

That's only for overseas ballots is what I hear. But there's people all over the place saying they got their absentee ballots late.

Obi, absentee ballots arent always about voting early. It's about not being able to make it to your voting precinct on November 2nd. A lot of people in college send them out. Also, with some people waiting 10-13 hours in line to vote yesterday, I think voting early is a good idea.

I live 150 miles away from home. I wasn't trying to give him a leg up. And it's not voting early if you send an absentee ballot. They still get counted on the same day.

Are you sure it wasnt supposed to be postmarked by the 1st? Thats the case for New York State, at least.
