I hate allergies.

I had to work the front end the other night and I walked by the detergent section so many times the scented crap that hit my nostrils started to kill me. My nose was runny the whole night and I couldn't really do anything about it. When I got home the forsaken dog fur hit me and I plugged right up. Now I got the plugged runny nose and I'm sneezing like crazy. I need to buy some allergy meds.

Claratin is a good over the counter antihistamine that won't cause drowsiness. Claratin-D is the same thing just with time released speudophedrines for more effective naval decongestion.

How can a smell cause allergies? Miathsma was proven false centuries ago.

What the hell are you talking about, Freelancer? :p

If you mean what I think you mean, there's no 'th' in that. Tiny airborne particles get into the body through the nostrals, the immune system mistakes them for something harmful, one thing leads to another (I dunno how the body works exacfly) then before you know it you're blowing your nose and sneezing.

It's because smells are, in fact, gases dissolved in air or microscopic particles in aerosol suspension.

I assume by "miathsma" you mean "miasma". And you're right, miasma was disproven, but just like aether there's another, more complicated theory to take its place.
