I haven't seen a Pixar movie in theaters since Toy Story 2. They always look bad to me, but then I rent them, and like them a lot. I feel the same way this time, but I'm forcing myself to go. I will see it in theaters.

I need to watch Finding Nemo again.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

This one looks okay--it's the first one that uses real people as characters, but hey, it's Pixar. They'll probably pull it off. Here's hoping. :)

Though Toy Story and 2 didn't use real people, the toys were modeled after realistic figures, and those turned out fine. But I am curious as to how it will appear. I'm taking a 3d modeling and animation class in Maya this semester, so this holds even more interest with me. It was suggested that our class take a field trip to watch it. :p

Heh, I took the same class about a year ago. I hope you learn more than I did in that class because all I learn was some nurb modeling and how to render pictures. A lot of that stuff I learned I could had done on my own just by fiddling with the program. What version of Maya are you using? I my class we were using Maya 4.5.

We're using Maya 6. We've learned a bit about the functionality, such as modeling, rendering, and animation, but next semester's Maya 2 class is where lighting and shading theory are taught, so that'll probably be more informative.

They'll still make movies when they're done with Disney, right?

I saw this back in October, the first time it was ever shown in theatres. It's awesome, definitely on a par with Finding Nemo.

I saw it, it's funnier than the trailer makes it look. All the worst jokes are in the trailer. :p

Samuel L. Jackson is awesome. The car movie does not look awesome. It looks like Thomas the Tank Engine or something.
2004-11-06, 5:48 PM #22
Oh man yea, was that funny. Samuel Jackson is wicked cool, however the way he was moving in that last battle scene I think could classify him as "Gayest Super Hero Ever". My favorite part was when Bob was pulling up to the costume designers place and she's like "My god you've gotten fat."

Don't you dare dis Thomas the Tank Engine. Those shows kicked ***. Granted, they won't hold as much appeal for anyone our age, but back then, that stuff was awesome. Maybe their next movie is geared for a much younger audience.

Now that you mention it, it is kind of ironic that a crowd of mostly 15-25 year old males are talking about how much they love a movie aimed at 6-12 year olds on a Star Wars discussion forum...

But yes, I love them too. :-P

It was good! I liked it. It designed to be funny on all levels so, both a 6 year old and a 40 year old could enjoy it. It wasn't stupid and immature like most movies aimed at that age group. *cough*SpyKids*cough* Spy kids was terrible. This movie was very well done.

I just saw it. Very good. Blue suit.

I saw it twice in the past two days. I love this movie. It's really funny, has good action, and great animation. Go see it now.

Well, it was written and dirrected by the guy who directed The Simpsons. Of course it was toned down to a PG rating, but you could still kinda tell. Just because a movie is intended for younger audiences don't mean it can't be fun. Did anyone catch the "Mallrats" reference in it? When Jason Lee's charactor in the Incredibles (Syndrome) jumps in Mr. Incredible's car at the beginning Mr Incredible call's him "Broady". I thought that was really funny.
