I have. I ruined Episode 1 for myself by getting almost every spoiler that was out there. Especially Qui Gon's death (thank you very much soundtrack)..

Episode 2 was better, I knew SOME things, but not all.

Episode 3, I've remained completely spoiler free. I know nothing about this film, except for the obvious facts.

I think it'll make it a much more enjoyable/surprising experience..

What about you?

Amidala will have two children named Luke & Leia which will be hidden from Anakin by Obi-Wan. Anakin will join the Dark Side, and then have a duel with Obi-Wan in which he loses and gets his face really messed up. Oh, and then he becomes Darth Vader.

Oops.

Spoilers have never really bothered me to be honest. I like watching them for the first time even if I know whats going to happen.

if i'm really interested in a movie, I enjoy spoiler sometimes... it's like a teaser... hearing about it makes me want to see it on screen even more.

guess i'm weird.

Uber, you might want to edit out the part about the duel ...I don't think that's an obvious fact.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I think it's pretty obvious. The spoilers for Ep. III aren't going to be all that huge. Pretty much everyone knows what will happen.

I saw the first LotR without spoilers because I was an illiterate hack. Then I saw the 2nd one knowing what was supposed to happen and totally flipped out when they cut stuff out or changed things. Same with the third one.

That's the first spoiler for me.

I've read every spoiler I came across.

The fact that it's secret material only entices me to read it ;)

I generally avoid discussing what might be in a movie I look forward to (in this case, Episode III, Episode II, LotR: TT, and LotR: RotK). I don't personally build a bunch of hype to be let down.

I've stayed as spoiler-free as I possibly can. I haven't visited The Force.net for months, since all the Episode 3 info was starting to rush in. I've avoided seeing the teaser, even changed the channel from my local news last night when they showed it (though, likely I'll have to see it with The Incredibles, but at least I'm seeing it on the big screen.) I've also avoided all the discussions here, on AICN, and the roundups on ComingSoon.net.

Unfortunately, even Yahoo! news wasn't safe for a few little things, they reported on their front page that Chewbacca would be in the third Star Wars movie. That made me pretty mad, that'd have been a cool surprise. And I've seen that picture of Anakin with the long hair. That's about it. Oh, and I watched the Clone Wars...now I wish I hadn't even done that. But oh well.

The last two movies I was spoiled a day or two before seeing them. For Phantom Menace a friend told me about Qui-Gon getting stabbed, then for AoTC I saw an Anakin action figure at Wal-Mart with it's removable arm fallen off (that's the kind of stuff I like to be surprised by.) I'm just afraid the Chewbacca thing may be my big Revenge of the Sith spoiler.

I saw "Episode I" pretty much spoiler free. The internet was new to me at the time, so I wasn't into the whole spy report scene, I'd never even visited TFN. All I'd seen of the film was the Anakin shadow teaser poster, the "Duel of the Fates" music video and a picture of Darth Maul on the back of a box of "Shreddies". The only thing I really knew that could be considered anywhere near spoiler material was that Darth Maul's saber had two blades. I didn't even know who Jar Jar Binks was for sure, all I remember is a friend telling me he heard that he was the first openly gay character in the "Star Wars" series.

"Episode II" was a different matter. I read quite a lot of story reports, and message board threads. I downloaded all the trailers, and saw the music video on TV. I didn't really know the entire story or the chronological events of things, but I knew a lot of key events and basically how it ended. I knew Jango died, but I didn't know how. I accidently clicked on a picture link on TFN and found out that Dooku cuts Anakin's arm off, which I really didn't want to know.

I was spoiler-free with "Episode III" up until a few weeks ago, when I was completely bored out of my mind and headed to TFN to read a bunch of archived news. I also watched the teaser trailer yesterday. But at this stage I don't know anything that could ruin the film for me at any length. I've never watched "Clone Wars" either, so I haven't seen this new Grievous character at all, I just know that he fights with multiple lightsabers[/spoilers]. I'll remain much more spoiler-free than I did with "Episode II" though, think I'll just stick with the trailers.

I haven't especially tried to search for spoilers, but I have read those that I have found by accident. It's still pretty much, but considering Ep 3 there are probably quite few surprises as it is. In general, like with LOTR, I tried to avoid the excessive flood of pictures just before the release. I don't remember if it was like that with Ep 2, though...

I hear there is a naughty sex scene with Anakin and Padme. Only available in the director's cut though.

The spoilers are what makes me exited about something. I'd never have wathed Attack of the Clones if it weren't for all the spoilers, and Magic: The Gathering wouldn't be as fun without checking the latest set spoilers.

ROFL!!!

I'm spoiler-free, simply because I've lost most of my previous interest in Star Wars. I'm sure when the movie comes out I'll see it and get some interest again, but I've just lost most of interest to really keep up with it and get any information\spoilers.

Basically the same as boba, my spoiler-free status has more to do with my general apathy for the trilogy now rather than any conscious effort to avoid news.
2004-11-05, 8:54 PM #22
Well, what if there's going to be a shocker suprise as big as "Darth Vader is Lukes father" in episode 3? Nah, prolly not.

Well, I'm sure that will be in it, but hey, wouldn't it be interesting if they didn't mention/show anything about Vader's children?

Am I the only one that thinks that would be interesting?

Jar Jar never seemed gay to me... merely incredibly stupid and annoying.

Meh I watch what I want when it comes to spoliers... I like trailers and making of movies... I find they increase my desire for the movie itself... but would I read an entire script online... I don't think I could keep my mind on it that long.
