I just have to wonder why in the heck are they showing this on TV. I think I can see why they would ask for volunteers for this sort of thing, for the information and all, but televised? Whatever floats their boat...

I've seen exactly that before, actually..

They took pictures once every hour or so and then showed them decomposing, all sped-up. They did it for a human body, a fox, and an apple. It was really interesting, actually. It dispels the myth that corpses are eaten by worms. Corpses are eaten by bacteria. Bacteria are by far the most successful lifeforms on Earth.
