As I was at Best Buy, I noticed that "Sonic Mega Collection Plus" came out for PS2, which is all the Sega Genesis sonic games (including the combos of 2 and 3 w/ knuckles), all the game gear games , and other games.

So, which was your favorite Sonic?

I have to say that Sonic 2 was always my favorite. I always played it the most. Next was probably Sonic and Knuckles.

Funny story that ties along with this. Well, a Best Buy opened about 5 miles from our house, so no longer do we ahve to drive around 20-25 minutes into Brookfield to go to a Best Buy. As loyall devotees, my brother (Nubs) and I wanted to be THE first customers. So we convinced my mom (she's awesome) to let us skip classes for the first couple hours of today, so we could be the first customers. So, we got their a bit early, waited around. And then we saw the doors open. So we walk in, and all the staff is there clapping and cheering, and giving us high fives. The manager goes "You're the first customers, congrats!". So we walked down the aisle getting high fives from everybody, and we were getting some pretty good treatment from the staff. I told them I'd be back every weekend (I usually make a weekly best buy trip). It was a pretty cool experience, actually. Made me feel special lol.

I would agree. Sonic 2 then Sonic & Knuckles.

I've always had a soft spot for 2, becuase that was our first Sega game. However, I think my favorite is Sonic 3 with Knuckles. That's combined with Sonic and Knuckles so it makes the uber Sonic game, it can't be beat.

haven't played many of them, i like sonic adventure DX though

I had a Game Gear, but I still prefered Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

The first one with Tails on the Mega Drive (aka Genesis). Cant remember what it was called.

BTW: Sonic and Knuckles and 2 are tied. SnK only gets my vote because I could play 2 with it.

It was 20 bucks, but with our Best Buy bucks from McDonalds, we got it for 12.01.

Oh yeah... I was a Sonic manic when I was a kid. The only Sega Genesis games I own the Sonic games. Sonic was the great back then before Sonic 3d blast came out. Ever since then, sadly, they kind of went down hill. The new Sonic game with all the extra characters kind of takes away from that charm that the series used to have in its glory days.

Basically it all comes down to how much the Death Egg features. Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles both allow you to board the Death Egg and take the fight to Robotnik :p

Sonic 1 was awesome, as was Sonic 3, but the plot of Sonic 3 is incomplete without S&K.

The Master System sonic games will always be the best to me. They're the first console games I played.

and as for Genesis, I liked the second one best. Played through it several times.

Yeah, gotta love the Game Gear. It was big as ****, used 6 AA bateries and killed them within 3 hours. But it had a backlit color screen. How long did it take Nintendo to catch on to that? :p

I probably still have it stashed somewhere, I don't remember selling it or anything.

I got the plugin adapter, so my Gamegear is STILL in constant usage. Some of the best MP games were on the gamegear.

Yeah I had two adapters, one that I had gotten with the game gear and another that came with the battery pack.

I never tried playing MP games on the Game Gear, none of my friends had one because they already had Game Boys when the GG came out.

Sonic 3 with Knuckles, although there was that one level that annoyed the hell out of me, the one with all the hills and columns and stuff.

But yea, all the sonic games rocked.
Knuckles was the coolest... but was no good in sonic 2. Game wasn't designed for him.. it was amusing, but no good.

Sonic one was amazing. Sonic two was great, but kind of annoying. Sonic three wasn't as good as the first two. Sonic and Knuckles was the Best, just cause of all the ways to beat it, all the secrets, etc.
