Hell. Yes.

Ever since Bioware announced that their next dungeon crawler title would not use DND rules and classes, I've been a little bit edgy... This is excellent news.

This is very much true.

Aurora (NWN) engine, graphically, gives a 1998 feel (boxy, blocky). Although I must give maaaaaad props to NWScript. I love that scripting language.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Baldur's Gate III already exists, for the xbox i think, dark alliance or such.

So perhaps BG4. But enough nitpicking.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

Then it would be BG 5, since there are two Dark Alliances.

Now there's enough nitpicking :p

When it comes to single-player RPGs, I'm with you on that one. Good lord, Planescape Torment rocked.
The answer is maybe.

.. they make sense.

3rd edition is great, but everyone who has played second (including myself) has a soft spot for it. Mmmmm, THACO...

So where does that leave 1st edition people?

Overall, 3rd edition is better. The only problem with it is this "any race can be any class" crap. Dwarven mages? Gnome paladins? You're kidding, right?
