Who else bought Shrek 2? I got it when it came out, because it rocks hard.

[For some reason the Polls don't want to work, so uhh...

I like it better then the first.
It's good, but the first is better.
I haven't seen it.
I hate this movie. ]
Think while it's still legal.

It was the way a sequel should be: Just as good as the first and better.
Twenty-Eight Days, Six Hours, Forty-Two Minutes, Twelve seconds...

I went to see it at the theaters with 5 guys at ~12:00AM right before we went over to one of their house to have a LAN party.

That was an awesome night, we still use the term "In Boots" for something that is cool.
The tired anthem of a loser and a hypocrite.

I didn't like the first one very much. I mean, I got it and everything...I just didn't...like it. In my opinion. Compared to say, Finding Nemo, for instance. Or Emporer's New Groove. As far as cartoons go.

But everyone else loves it, and apparently loves this new one. You think I should give it a chance, or would there be much point? Is it substantially better? Keep in mind, also, I'm not the world's largest Mike Meyers fan. That may or may not factor in.

(Oh, and that's a vote for "I haven't seen it.")

Shrek 2 was pretty funny in theatres, but I just got the feeling like it was missing something over the original. However, the "Knights" C.O.P.S. parody was hysterical.
The top ten times in history when using the "F" word
was appropriate.....
10) "What the *&%# was that?" -Mayor of Hiroshima - August 1945
9) "Where did all these *&%#ing Indians come from?" - Custer 1877
8) "Any *&%#ing idiot could understand that." - Einstein 1938
7) "It does SO *&%#ing look like her!" - Picasso 1926
6) "How the *&%# did you work that out?" - Pythagoras 126 BC
5) "You want WHAT on the *&%#ing ceiling?" - Michelangelo 1566
4) "I don't suppose it's gonna *&%#ing rain." - Joan of Arc 1434
3) "Scattered *&%#ing showers...my a$$!" - Noah 2114 BC

It was enjoyable, but it was no Shrek 1. I'm certainly not going to buy it, but I'm broke and never buy any films anyway, so that doesn't mean anything.

Tyler, I absolutely despise Mike Myers, but it's ok, you don't have to look at him!

Emperor's New Groove > All

That is all.

(And I liked Shrek 2 too, better than the first IMHO)

It does indeed seem a bit less fulfilling in comparison to the original, and I think I know why. They had, basically, too many good ideas. They tried to work all the ideas into the movie at once, instead of selecting the best ones and allowing them space to develop. This gave the impression to me that the movie was too short, when in fact it was just about average.

The other thing that bothered me was that while the original Shrek felt like a medieval story with a smattering of pop-culture, Shrek 2 felt like a pop-culture movie with a smattering of medieval stuff. It was probably the fact that it took place in Hollywood, but bleh. I liked the giant gingerbread man.

Personally I think the reason the first was better is because the first was (very) original.
The second was great and all, but was partially ruined by previews.
They gave away the cat in the previews, and that totally ruined the scene were the king hires him, and made the other scenes less funny from seeing them too much on telly.

It rocks anyway though, one of my all-time faveourite movies, right under Shrek 1
Emperors New Groove is cool too, but its got nothing on Shrek
