Inspired by the "Your worst fear" thread.. I know a lot of people die of these, and chances are that I'll die of them. Consequently, it's my worst fear.. But the reason it's my worst fear is two reasons, not for death though, cuz I'm not afraid of that. But what I wanna know from anyone who has an idea, are two things..

How painful exactly are they? (I.e - Worse than anything, comparable to bearking bones, etc)

How long does it take for you to die once you have one?

I don't want to be laying there for like 20 minutes in the most extreme pain until I finally die. You kno what I maen?

1. You don't necessarily die from one.
2. There have been some cases where people didn't even feel it.
3. There are cases when you die very quickly from one.

I was at a restaurent once, and our table happened to be against the bathroom wall. And all the sudden theres some pounding on it. More pounding. Then some dude flys out of the bathroom and collapses.

He had a heart attack. From what I've seen, they seem sucky. Anything else is by word.

Yeah, I've heard of instances where people die quite quick from them. But I've also heard of people dying quite slow.. and I dunno which one is more true. My grandfather died instantly when he had a quad-heart attack. I think that's what it was called.

my grandfather (on my mothers side) has had so many heart attacks and he's so strong he's made it through all of them. Then again he's been a pretty healthy eater his whole life, and he's just a strong man in general, I love him so much! *ok getting mushy*

anywho after seeing him make it through all of them they dont scared me too much because I know you can make it through and still be ok. Just kinda makes u aware of your cholesterol and things of that sort for clogged arteries.

At your age, you should not be overly concerned about heart attacks unless you have family history and you eat lots and lots and lots of saturated fats day in and day out.

I'm told that you feel as if a 250-lb human is sitting on your chest and that the pain is crushing. It also radiates out to your arms and neck.

My grandma had an acute heart attack. She's still alive and working tirelessly to bring her LDL count down (bad cholesterol). I don't know anyone on my dad's side. Of course I'm also worried myself. My mother was adopted and I'm pretty much a carbon copy of my mother, save for the Y chromosome. So...I could have untold genetic surprises.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Stroke has warning signs such as numbness in one side of the body, decreased reflexes, slurring of speech, inability to walk, loss of vision in one eye, and dizziness.

If you're think you're having a stroke, call 911. The sooner you get medical attention, the lesser your chance of being in pain / dieing.

I have cardiac 'incidents' when I sneeze. Hurts like all hell. Pain shoots through my left arm and chest. Not fun at all. Usually get dizzy and I have blacked out a few times. Not fun. Hurts enough to punch through a Vicodin haze with a migraine as well. :(

The amount of pain is going to vary depensing on the size of the ehart attack (How much heart muscle is affected).
