Anybody else see the Northern Lights last night?

It was pretty cool here in Ontario, I had never seen them before.
That painting was a gift, Todd. I'm taking it with me.

Nope, I was on a train, and then I was in Toronto, where you can barely see the moon on a normal night.

But I remember one time, back a couple of years ago, where the Northern lights were literally covering at least 60% of the sky... it looked like they were radiating outwards from a point directly upwards. Cool stuff.

There are certain things you should see before you die. I think they're one of them. I haven't seen them yet, but I will eventually.

I can see light behind some clouds tonight.

And they must've been damn bright the other night, because I saw them in, and I live in the central part of Illinois. A rare thing to see around here. It was pretty sweet.

One cannot see aurora borealis or aurora australus in San Diego, CA.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I missed it, it's one of the things I AM going to see before I die.

Preferably before I go blind as well.

I've seen them in North Georgia before. It was super clear, winter, and I was camping out with my shotgun and my dogs next to my moonshine still on a mountain. No, but seriously, I was camping out on a mountain and I saw them.

I saw the Southern Lights last night. It was an amazing sight, the activity was as fast moving as I have ever seen it. It was almost like lightning flashing across the sky. At one point it covered almost two thirds of the sky. Looking straight up, it was almost as if I was standing on a comet, with the tail stretching away from me. Was absolutely stunning.

I hope the extreme northern light activity over Ontario and Quebec was indicative of a fatal amount of ionizing radiation reaching the lower atmosphere!

Nope! It just gave us superpowers!

So tempting to make a joke about French grooming habits.

I mean, I guess it wouldn't be true for a Quebecois, but the temptation is still there.

Wehere was this thread a few days ago? I never noticed it. My family took some pictures, but I can't find out digital camera to see how they turned out. If they were any good, I'll post something; we saw a rather nice "burst" of blue lights in the sky, streaking out from a center-point almost directly above where I live. It looked ordinary at first glance though, (only slightly odd looking for clouds) until you saw it ripple.:D
