Child's Play is an independent film. The movie "Chucky" does not exist, unless you have translated the title of a foreign film. Sorry, not trying to start a fight, just a big movie buff and I get annoyed when people call the name of a movie something else.
I liked Child's Play, but I also think that it should've ended after the first one. The concept of the movie was very original. It involved voodoo and a doll, but instead of using the doll as a tool to cause pain to others, the doll itself causes pain to others. Brad Dourif is one of my favorite actors for the horror genre (he does the voice of Chucky in the Child's Play films). In case you wanted to see what he looks like, he stars in the films Body Parts, Spontaneous Combustion, and most recently LOTR: The Two Towers and Return of the King. While some people may laugh at the thought of a killer toy, think about it. It's a household object, you're used to it being thoughtless, lifeless. But, if it had the capability to kill you, and you didn't know it, then you would certainly be scared. I also thought it was great because the boy blamed all of the things that were happening on the doll, and of course, the mother didn't believe him. So, through out the film, you're waiting for the mother to find out that the doll is infact a living entity. It's a GREAT movie, but if you watch it thinking "Pffftt...a movie about a killer doll, what a waste of my time...how lame" then you deserve whatever you feel, be it regret or negativity.
Who made you God to say "I'll take your life from you"?
