Kinda pointless..you figure people would just download the movie instead of going to that trouble. If you're gonna get a DVD, may as well get one for the fact it's gonna last.

It said the movie will be worthless anywhere from 1 hour to 60 hours....err, what if the movie is 2 hours and the disc goes kaput within 1?
Think while it's still legal.

I think it means the technology can allow that range of times, not that it's some random time between the two limits.

that has to be one of the worst ideas ever. if i bought a dvd and it desintigrated after one or two viewings i would demand my money back

These aren't fully priced or anything. They cost the same as it would to rent it, you just don't have to return it.

Not cost-effective in the least. Whereas before you'd have to order some 100 DVDs for a store, now you'd have to order them in the thousands? I don't think the difference is the same as costs from stolen, lost, or damage discs.

Guys these things have been around for years, they used to give them to film crittics so they could watch new movies muiltiple times without having to be in the movie theater.

They would have to be extremely cheap relative to regular DVDs to make it even close to worthwhile.
