The SP was the same old stuff, but much less balanced. The rocket launcher's heatseaking is overpowered, and a tad too accurate, and the sword is nearly unbeatable in the smaller maps. As well, there's no map I really like as much as I did the original blood gulch.

Overall, it's a better game, but isn't a game that I think is worth all the hype. Really, I didn't see why everyone was so excited, and after playing it, I'm still lost in that concept.

You sumed up by feeling perfectly. The only logical explanation I ever found was it was Crap-box's leading title, "so oo lets all say its great, its a huge fib, in facts its total crap, but we must support Mr Gates"

Geez you ppl suck!

I honestly can't tell how you can stand fps's on consoles in the first place. A TV is inadiquite as its pixels are so large, unless it's an expensive plasma one, and split screen multiplayer makes it even worse. Then there's the joysticks that don't let you turn fast enough. Keyboard and mouse is just more natural. If I ever have to play a console FPS with my fanboy friends, I'll have to pick this up.

Its funny how many people are making comments like 'consoles arnt meant for FPS games!' or 'if there were a mouse and keyboard id own that game!!!'

Lets clarify something, being good on PC doesnt make you a 'gamer' ...technically, if youre a true gamer, you should be able to adapt, regardless of keyboard and mouse, or controller of any sort. As for myself, I've been cussed out by entire rooms full of people on PC for 'being too good' at halo, and I'm not trying to brag because most of them suck anyways. There have been people online that I have played that were good competition, but they didnt complain all the time either. Same with Halo (xbox) and Halo 2, I still school my friends in it, no im not as good as i am on PC, but its all about the adaptability, I dont blame the box when i lose on it, its just because its more challenging.

GAMES ARE ABOUT BEING CHALLENGED!

But of course, now days when a game challenges someone theyd rather complain about what they dont like (which is also the reason they arnt any good at it) so they have a reason to suck....

If you dont like the game, thats fine, no one makes you buy or play it, but dont bash it just because its on console and you happen to be no good at using a controller.

Those are all very excellent points.

I kick *** at Halo PC, but can really suck sometimes at Xbox Halo. Yet I totally prefer the Xbox version to the PC port. The challenge is the major thing for me. It's far more satisfying for me when I get a sniper kill on the Xbox than when I get one on PC. Mainly because precision aiming with thumbsticks is no easy task. At least for me. Playing split-screen is also more enjoyable. You can't exactly camp, because all your opponent has to do is look at your half of the screen to find you. It keeps you on the move. Then there's the joy of being able to yell and punch your friends whilst playing. I don't think that's nearly as easy at a LAN party, considering the amount of breakables and mucho expensive items in the area surrounding other people. I find those to be some of the redeeming qualities of consoles.

Oh, and you guys do know that you can alter the sensitivity of the Thumbsticks in Halo, right? I keep mine a notch above the default setting. Lower is slightly too sluggish, higher is far harder to control.

I haven't really had the chance to play much of the SP, as I don't have an XBOX, but the multiplayer is insanely fun. Invisibility+energy swords at Beaver Creek=complete mayhem.:D And about the weapons, I think they're about as perfectly balanced as Bungie could make them. A person with an energy sword has pretty much the same chance of killing another player who is, say, dual-wielding Needlers. It really depends on the skill of the player.

Who cares HL2 is out! :p I'll be buying that one of these days. I must decide bettween that and a new PSU.

I care. That's who cares. HL 2 can sit and wait. I've never been a fan of online authentication, or Steam. That plus the fact that I am a Bungie Fanboy.

I can wait until Christmas for HL 2. Hell, I waited until THIS year to be Half-Life. I could easily wait a few years to get Half-Life 2.

Ok.
Can anyone beat the Heretic Leader (solo) on Legendary?
I'm on about day 3 of trying to beat him, and it's impossible.

Four flying, dual plasma rifle weilding, bad *** covenant is instant death.

I managed to survive one round of the guys, but this second round is beating the crap outta me because I can't stick the first two guys that come into my view.

Just find the real guy as fast as you can and ignore the holograms. What I did was grab a Combine and hid in one of the hallways till they settled down. Then I would peek out and shoot them, and they would fly in front of the entrance. Just a few shots of my Combine would take the shields down, and if they flicker blue, they're a hologram. If it's the real guy, plug him. As soon as he;s dead, a cinematic starts and you don't have to worry about the others.
DO NOT WANT.

Hmm crap... that's my problem.. I'm not trying to take out the real one lol. I thought I had to kill all of em.
Du'h. This should be easy now...

I found myself sitting, bored. The levels were boring, uninspired. The weapons (excepting the very cool energy blade) were boring, and (again) uninspired. I never got this feeling of "Wow, this is really cool!"

The Flood in the first Halo game were at first really cool and awesome, and then eventually become slight irritations. In Halo 2, they start as slight irritations and become flat-out the worst enemies in any popular FPS I've ever played.

The only new enemies they bothered to introduce are the Brutes and the Councilmen/Prophets/FLOATING MEN OF SOMEWHAT PARTIAL DEATH . The elites were still elites, the grunts still grunts, and the flood...was still the God-damned flood.

Uberpoints to Halo 2 for allowing the player to play as Covenant . That, by far, was the best part and I loved every single one of those missions you were on. The only reason why I don't think this game is absolute crap.

The multiplayer is intolerable. Every single time I play it, I become more and more disgusted with it. The took away the Halo 1 pistol -- call it an overpowered weapon if you wish, but I loved it. The rocketlauncher's blast radius is far too short -- you pratically have to shoot the person at their feet to kill them with one rocket. In addition, the rocket's ability to track is ridiculous, and should be removed. Vehicles are as good as deathwishes, removing any and all appeal of them from multiplayer. Say all you want of "it's good if you don't suck!" and stuff it -- you X-Box Live! kiddies can run around with your voice masking to make it sound like your testes have dropped, but the bottom line is: Halo 2's multiplayer sucks. The only enjoyable part of it is the Juggernaut mode -- the rest is utter garbage.

In the end, I'm glad I didn't pay for it. It was a "gift" to me from my university, and I'm more than glad to let them foot the bill.
