I have a class. This class is called Time Based Media Design. The premise of the class is to teach me how to draw storyboards. I am up working on the rough version of my final. My final is a few scenes from a movie that I'll be filming next year. I have to compile a shotlist, and rough storyboards by tomorrow. The shotlist is half way complete, with over 70 shots so far. This covers about 2 and a half minutes of footage... probably less. I have to now do a shotlist for a complex gunfight, as well as sketch the entire thing. This won't be very hard, but it will take a while. I'm probably not going to sleep tonight. I'm going to walk into class tomorrow morning with a mountain of work, pin it up on the board, and hope my teacher likes it. To me, it seems like it is a stylistic masterpiece so far. Something in the style mix of David Fincher and Face/Off era John Woo.
Nights like this are why you see the general look of the people at this school change over the semester. It goes from a look of happiness and anticipation, to a look of dispair and weariness. I have seen this happen for the past two years. Someone stays up all night working on homework... Walks into class the next day, and it's all worth it when the teacher likes it. Hopefully, that is what happens to me.
