Painkiller Released (adn demo 2 screenies)
2004-04-13, 1:52 AM #1
In case you haven't heard, Painkiller was released on the 12th. I'm planning on going to the store this week and picking it up. I was impressed with both of the demos, which run suprisingly well on my sub-par laptop.

I leave you with these screenies from the second demo:

Launching the Painkiller as it's spinning causes much damage. The level is based on Venice, Italy. Most notable is the bridge (not shown here), I forget the exact name of the bridge, but it's famous in Italy.

Bloody

I like this part of the level. Lots of glass to shatter.

Arm anyone?

Lots more breaking glass.

Gore galore.

You're not seeing things. One monster is using another as a shield. Coolness.

[Edit]Oops, that should be *and* in the subject.

I bought Painkiller on Thursday but was out all weekend so didn't get a chance to play it till yesterday. I'm almost through level 2 and I love the game! It's my new favorite game ever.

*sigh* How can mindless, pretty much plotless mass killspree shooters be on the rise again?

I believe you mean the Bridge of Sighs.

So, UT2k3, q3arena, ut2k4, etc., have plots? Hell, this game actually does have a story, unlike the previously mentioned games, although a flimsy one so far. It's fun to be scared and it's fun to kill the zombies, that's all I care about. If it wasn't fun to play this game, I would not. But there isn't some deep conspiracy to bring back "not fun" games, geesh!

I would suggest that if you didn't like serious sam, or that if you don't like games like this, you simply don't purchase it.
