The 6600GT, AGP version (there's also, of course, a PCI-express version), which pwns the 9800 pro all over the place, is perhaps the best bang for your buck at 235. After that it's the 6800, at 280-ish, and the 6800GT at 400-ish.

I need a card that is under $160, preferably under $140. I'm upgrading from a GeForce 4 Ti4200. Any ideas?

but Thrawn--I'd suggest saving the extra $$ for this card, or going with a 9800 np now.

I make it something of a policy to by NOTHING for my computer that costs over 200 dollars. The exception being a monitor.

I'll keep my 9600XT until something better comes way down in price.

Yea, my next upgrade will be in a couple of years when the 6800s or X800s are down to around $200.
