I would very much like to eat it, but apparently it was made over ten years ago. Oh well. Another dream destroyed. :(

I'm glad so many people know what the virgin Mary looked like.

And should I feel sorry for the people who have jacked the bids up to $76100 in less than 24 hours?

No. I don't. Stupid people deserve to be in debt.

But EVERYONE LISTEN. This is how easy it is to make money on ebay. Take advantage of it. Seriously.

[edit: make that $79300.]
[edit2: make that $100,100. Damn, this guy's gonna be rich.]

My sentaments exactly... how the hell does anyone know what the virgin Marry looks like?
2004-11-16, 3:39 PM #5
Ok... I don't think some people are taking this seriously. You can literally sit and refresh the page and watch the values go up... now over half a million dollars.

And if they are serious... OMGWTFPIE.

[edit: Ok... it's over a million now. Yeah right.]

"High bidder: User ID kept private"

Yeah...I wouldn't admit to it, either.

I fail to see how thats the Virgin Mary. It could be Elvis Presley or Joan of Arc, or just some burns. Hell if I burn my toast I could probably find a face.

Ok, I just saw it go from 71 bids at $2 million to 69 bids at $5 million.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.
2004-11-16, 3:44 PM #8
Unbelievable. Over a million.

Heh heh. You just gave me a great idea.
Unfortunately, I have no art skills. :(

I'm going to keep my eye on this item and see if the sale actually goes through at the end. If so... well, I shall think of a similar scam.

But I'm betting it doesn't.

[edit: now over 50 million bucks.]

i bid on it:D
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

1) Either it'll mold.

2) The buyer will mass-produce the cheese sandwhich. I'll bet that it'll appear in Virgin Mary Stands around San Frisico.

EDIT: " You are viewing an extroidinary out of this world item!! I made this sandwich 10 years ago..."

Hmm...yet the bread and cheese are not blue or moldy?
2004-11-16, 5:49 PM #18
OMG...I was changing to Comedy Central, and our local news was on...they're talking about the sandwhich!

Apparently some old lady is selling it.

$99,999,999... Thank you unserious bidders!

Honestly, if I'm ever so poor, and I still have internet, I'll be making quite a profit on e-bay.

If the Holy Mother of God had contacted you through a cheese sandwich, wouldn't He be a little displeased that you're selling this miracle in an auction?

I wonder if ebay still charges for the listing on hoax auctions. I think they should.

And apparently, this is now a pre-approved auction. Tons of previous bids were retracted, too. Some buyers retracted the bid themselves, others were administrative retractions.

I wonder if the pope visits ebay. He could afford this Holy Sandwich.
