Wouldn't an Aliens vs. Predator 2 multiplayer mod(especially survival mode) in the souce engine rock?

I mean, to this day AvP2 provides some of the best adrenaline pumping action you can get in mp. I mean, imagine holding off swarms of aliens with your team of marines with your trusty pulse rifle in a remake of the quarantine or leadworks maps in the SOURCE engine! Full physics and lighting, with beautiful new marine and alien character models. Who would be able to resist a mod like this?!

But seriously guys, that just isn't the same as the "Aliens" from the movie of the same name. Aliens vs. Predator 2 mp already rocks, but the prospect of the game in the source engine is just too tempting to resist. It would look like the movies with the realistic creepy lighting and high detail models as well as maps. And the physics! imagine shooting an alien in mid-air as it's leaping towards you, or seeing an alien right above you pounce down from the ceiling. Or perhaps, hordes of aliens trying to overrun your desperately outmanned defensive enclosure! I tell you, it would be the best thing since counter-strike (or sliced bread, if you prefer)!

This is one of the few things that I think the doom3 engine would actually be better for. It's already got that creepy-lab vibe down.

And AvP2 < NS

Obviously you haven't played much NS. It has all that, and more. Imagine 3-4 Fades blinking into your base and shredding everything in sight. Then you get an Onos stampede to charge over the survivors, and devoure what's left. Trust me, if you can get a good match going, NS is FAR superior to AvP2.

How about beating Half Life 2 before making mods?

well, I sure as hell haven't seen a mod made in like a week or two. The SP story will only last about that long if I get to play as much as I can with classes in the way and all...I'm just suggesting an idea that someone could make, but it'll take time, which is why suggesting at this early stage is better.

And no, NS is not ALIENS. I'm not talking about a ripoff. I'd like to see the actual models look as close to the movies as legally possible, which is what I'm sure anyone would want.

Natural Selection is the only mod I play for Half-Life. I actually went out of my way to spend 40 bucks to get Steam just so I could play that mod (Had no choice because WON died). Seeing it show up on the Source Engine would really make my day. From what I've heard on the NS forums, the devs don't really have plans for a port right now and if they do make an NS 2, it probably wouldn't be free.
