Man. All I want is a quick easy tutorial or free script for a mouse event. Everybody is adding all this 'cool' stuff to make it 'better'. It took me 30 minutes of googleing to find a script generator that generated a simple onmouseover script that I used.

(guess I really shouldn't complain 'cause I'm too lazy to learn js even though I've got Using JavaScript right behind me )

Remember the rule of thumb: if it doesn't work in Links, don't even bother..
Things such as flash for instance, or image-based navigation, or inline sounds/music.. for that matter just get rid of all images and all javascript as well..

Finally - someone else who thinks that Flash should be scrapped, image-maps suck-a$$ big-time and web-pages with sounds are just... "wrong"

I dare say Flash looks pretty and (if implemented efficiently) you can create some nifty visuals at a low bandwidth cost, but quite frankly from what I've seen on the web, most editors are more than happy to slap Flash here, there and everywhere with no regard for people who have to sit and wait for a mammoth download intro, just because the web-editors didn't include a "Skip Intro" link.... geez, that really brasses me off ...

Anyways... */ends rant* javascript, if used sensibly (in combination with CSS and DHTML), can create equally good text-based visuals, rather than an overly "bulky" heavy dependency on images. Well - just my tuppence worth anyway...
