I know it's been done... but nothing came up in a search. I've never really bothered to take pictures of my room untill a post was made on my favorite forum.. so I figured I'd share here... but can't find it. So a new one!

single room with one person single.

rit has three room on campus, for dorm, they got single for single, they got double for double, and they got quad for three peoples.

Yea, here at UM we have Singles and Double Singles (one person) and Doubles (two people).

I love the Dorm. Hanging out in the Lounge is great, TV, Pingpong, pool table, etc.

I *HATE* not having my OWN bathroom. I'm considering moving off campus to an apartment because of this sole reason. They are actually cheaper... But you won't get the lovely T1 connection, nor the ability to hang out and chill with freinds so easily. And of course, this is about a 10 extra minuet walk to classes.

I'll probably end up staying in the Dorms...

at rit the cable aint too bad i think on campus cable are about 10 mb/sec lan/cable while dorms are 100 mb/sec but i cannot take advange of that because rit keeps on disconnecting and ****ing up my connection anytime i upload anything for more than 5 second, which is bull****. plus it keeps on ****ing up if i try to use bit torrent files and other items so its sort of moot to have this speed if u can only use it for webpages.

bah going to ***** soon to resnet office bout this.

anyway the tower A dorm aint too bad, esp quad room they got their own bathroom, but what really suck is floor shared bathroom which is what we got over here at gibson, i miss my room shared bathroom for my dorm in tower A from last year.

That's actually about a year or so ago, but not much has changed, except for a Direct TV system, a new printer, a secondary computer, and a big *** mess of papers.

Across campus it's 100 Mbps, some dorms are stuck on 10 Mbps switches and routers (which are changing soon). Maybe some really old parts of buildings are also 10 Mbps, but most of it is a very well routed 100 Mbps (when I saw well routed, I mean a good network topology that isn't congested).

Do you guys actually get 100mbs? Or is that just the max?
I've gotten aroun 10mbs at most here, but usually its about 1mbs (Transfering files on the Network... Campus hub for DC++)

What else can you do that would actually get those speeds?

Intranet transfers on DC++ (on the RIT DC hub) I get around 2-8 MBps, it depends on what that person is uploading to others. The other day one guy was giving me over 9 Mbps, the theoritical maximum being 10, the accepted maximum throughput being 8 Mbps (80 percent).

My brothers wreck it, too, and now it's a horrid mess because I'm sick of cleaning it up when I'm never in there except to sleep!
