Tuesday night (I meant to post this yesterday), some guy many blocks away from me was driving a U-Haul truck *in the dark* and somehow managed to run over a guy wire and snap the top of the pole off, successfully knocking out power on my side of town. It also just so happened that the transformer was on the pole that snapped.

So here's the part that pissed me off. My computer was running at the time, and I had been rendering something for nearly 24 hours, and it was almost done. So here I sit, waiting for it all over again.

Article.

I do like how they tell people exactly where he lives. It's a smart investment for that news agency. They might have had themselves a homicide story to report on just a few days afterward.

Our local paper always does that. Convenient, isn't it?

My thoughts exactly. Perhaps that guy's corpse will appear on top of that pole a few days later. That reminds me of an incident about a year and a half ago, when a construction crew "accidentialy" destroyed a major power line, causing a blackout for half of our city, and it lasted for about 10 hours, while the 20-odd consturction crew, (whose total IQ would be only a three-digit number) tried to figure out just what the **** they had done.

I hate it when the power is out. Makes life suck.
