On the other hand, Konqueror is worlds faster (both in terms of startup and page loading) and has that all-important advantage of being a native KDE app...

Internet Explorer *wields shot-gun* I'd think twice about attacking if I were you:mad:

I guess I'm just lazy, and can't muster the will-power to change. It's worked well enough so far. The ads seem to be blocked since SP2 *shrug*

With Ad-block you can get rid of banners etc too.

Like the one at the top of this page.

Not just popups.

(chaaaaaange!! chaaaaaaaaange!!)

Gold.

Firefox + Adblock + Flashblock + Mouse gestures + search extensions + IE view (for the occasional hamster-coded page that wont load in Firefox).

Oh yes, I love tabs. Like a lot. I really, really like them.

Opera for real everyday browsing and searchage.

Firefox for braindead lightweight stuff [eg online art history course postings, or scrabble]. With the massive amount of tabs and so forth i usually have open in Opera, i thoroughly can't stand using Firefox for the same mass of stuff, no matter how many extensions i add in, i've tried, it just won't happen.

That's another thing, with Firefox i have to go and hunt down a bunch of extensions to make a nominally useable and functional browsing environment, Opera i get all of that stuff right ouf ot the box. Sure it's a bit bigger [though actually in linux the ff package is about twice as big as the Opera one], and has a bit more footprint, but given the mass of features that i use and how integral a part of my o/s it is, there's no shame in that.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

FF has a bigger footprint than Opera iirc

And yeah, lots of tabs = good for opera, bad for FF

VTEC just kicked in, yo!

I was once a die-hard IE user; but, to be completely honest, Firefox is better. You won't look back when and if you install it.

I stubbornly used IE for years....then one afternoon decided to try Firefox for the hell of it. Yeah, I now feel really silly for staying so long with IE.

Firefox, tabbed browsing is just plain awesome. I wish windows explorer had tabbed browsing, that would be great.

Thanks. :) I haven't really used Konqueror much other than for browsing my file system.

Whilst banners are vaguely irritating, they're what allow heavy-traffic sites to stay in existance. If everyone blocked all forms of ads, a lot of good sites would be forced to shut down until they came up with an alternative source of revenue.

I switched to Firefox a while back, yet I still go back to IE because some pages just won't render under Firefox.

I use all of the browsers for different tasks. Mostly Firefox, though. I've loved it since Phoenix. That wasn't that long ago, though.

Does opera have gestures to cycle through the tabs?

I hold my right mouse button and use the scroll wheel.

IE. I tried Firefox once and didn't like it, so I went back.
